Re: Hunger Games.......My eyes hurt!!!!!
I am constantly battling a friend (fellow shooter) on this. He wants to shoot wide open all the time even on his Steadicam. The last project we worked on together I didnt use most of his footage...

Re: MIII Battery Issue / Camera Turning Off Issue
No issues here. I ran a six hour continuous shoot where the only time the mkIII wasn't recording was to swap cards or change batteries. I let the battery warning light come on each time. I used 2-1/2...

Re: couple of questions about Mk.III Lens
There's only a few options for "faster" zooms. If you can swing it, my all time fav lens is the 70-200 f2.8L USM II. I also have the 24-70 f2.8L and 16-35 f2.8L
I understand the "want" for fast...

Re: Solar Eclipse = CMOS Damage?
I read everything I could find on safely photographing and videoing the eclipse and decided the risk is too great. Had I been a little quicker in finding out about the eclipse I could have bought the...

Re: WA-H82 wide attachment.
I have the WA-82 and use it on occasion. It's so freekin heavy! But it does look really good for certain shots. Works great on the crane and I have used it on my GlideCam. I can't see a difference in...

Re: remote for video use focus racking?
Zacuto is selling one and I think Manfrotto just released one.
On the other relatively affordable options...
Jag35 has a motorized follow focus and there's one from these guys...

Re: shoulder cam attachment
Who is the forum member I keep seeing who's making shoulder rigs for small camcorders? Olaf?
I remember looking at one for the xf300 and the only reason I didn't purchase one is I use my DSLR...

Re: Wireless shotgun mic
My solution which works perfectly is a sound devices mm1 pre amp (about $400) worn on my belt. My ntg3 (no battery) gets plugged into the mm1 which has phantom power, level control AND headphones for...

Re: XF300 and Sony EX-3
I have cut my xf300 with ex1r and ex3 footage from other shooters. They work well together BUT a lot depends on the picture profile used. I tend to prefer shooting for highest dynamic range on my 300...

Re: FS100 / Blackmagic Cinema
I don't know what you guys are talking about! The ergonomics of my 7D and 5D mk3 are perfect! It just cost about $4000 in extra parts but they work great now! ;) HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Re: Recommended solution for mixing 5 lavs?
As a cheap solution, check out the Zoom R16. It can record 8 simultaneous tracks to SD cards and it can be powered by batteries if needed. Weighs about the same as a first gen iPad.
I bought one for...

Re: Lens arsenal
get a 24-70 f2.8L or 16-35 f2.8L. They will fill in the gaps and are both killer lenses. I have both along with my 70-200 f2.8L USMII and they cover just about everything I shoot on both my 7D and 5D...

Re: Is the 5D worth it?
Everything mentioned in this thread is good advice. The body is not the issue. Crop is not the issue. It's all about support and correct lens choice.
And I'd point more to support than lens.
I...

Used my Sennheiser G2 lav system plugged right into the mkIII and it sounds great. No...

Re: New! Blackmagic 2.5K Raw cinema camera!
Ahhh! And now the real discussion begins! I was curious about the space requirements for raw. I saw the 5hr spec for pro res which is just fine for my needs.
1 hour taking 470gb is a different...
