you must see this on CRT 19" monitor, orig m2t HDV (on small LCD you see noting :-) ).

look for noise and small soft effect.

(best for testing is day light in interier, but this setting work...

I use pana and FUJI tape, but both have drops.

Now I use Sony HDV tape (and Sony Premium .-) ) and both are ok :-) .

I don't agree with you

My friend take one hudred tapes with Sony FX1 and have 3 drops on this amount, I have 3drops on the same tapes, but per tape.

It's not HDV issue (but canon).

I must use the most expensive tapes...

same ideas for low light..

you must first use the normal gamma (not g1 or g2), PED set up -3 or -5, color gain +14 or +20. This basic setting can help, more with camlight 10 - 20W. Slow shutter 1/25 (1/30) or gain +12dB you...

I mean that difference is too big, XH-A1 make worse DV. Best result for "sd video" is first shot HDV, than make downconversion...

I have the same experience, DV have some mpeg2 compression residue.

When you make SD mpeg2 (from this DV), it is more noticable.

D3 1080i is YPrPb HDTV (EIA 770.3) - EIA/CEA-770.3-A(B) standart, which defines a wideband analog component interface. This is made from HDV/ HD mpeg2 (MP@ML, 4:2:0 HDV), so I think it canť be better...
