Re: Capturing Great Audio at Weddings
Thanks for your comment Peter. The thing is, this shouldn't be the ONLY way to capture audio. In the wedding I posted above, I also mic the groom as well as the officiant. This is the Same Day Edit...

Re: Idea for speech recording
I think you are worrying about something will never happen. You don't have to convince the groom for anything. Just go do it. Then when you pin on their chest, it's close to their face usually...

Re: Idea for speech recording
I have been using the PINMIC at weddings for the past two years. It is awesome. Nobody ever refuse to wear it. Like I said, the 3 pins are finer than those they use to pin flowers on chest. Those...

Re: Idea for speech recording
Oh I also have a Giant Squid lav mic as backup. But after using the Pinmic, I seldom use it. The pinmc comes with a silver mesh cap too. I am experimenting ways to mic the bride too. Will report...

Re: Idea for speech recording
It was never an issue. The 3 pins on PinMic actually fine enough to go through the "holes" fabric. The pin are actually finer than the pin they use to pin chest flowers.
Also, most of the...

Re: Idea for speech recording
I am using RODE PINMIC. It's the Long Pin version works especially well with thicker jacket. The mic pin through the fabric. There is no visible cord.

Re: Capturing Great Audio at Weddings
If you read my first post clearly you shall see this is a "last resort" method. You can't mainly rely on this but it won't hurt to have different ways to get good audio. I always mic the groom, the...

Re: Capturing Great Audio at Weddings
Oh in fact, I did this a month ago at a catholic church wedding. I velcroed an H1 on the house handheld mic when nobody arrives yet. The priest just hold and speak to the microphone.
The H1 is a...

Capturing Great Audio at Weddings
I have been trying to find ways to capture vocal recording in good quality at events/weddings. Last weekend I experimented this new "last resort" method by attaching a digital voice recorder to the...

Re: IPB vs ALL-I doubts
Visually there aren't much difference. IPB is more compressed with interframes compression, long GOP (group of picture). All-I means all I-Frame only which makes scrubbing and playback a lot faster. ...

Re: A Canon T3i Wedding Film (my first)
Great job! I have been using my T3i until earlier this year. Sold them to replace with 6D. I miss T3i's 3x crop zoom and the articulating LCD screen. But 6D low light performance is amazing.
