Re: To GH4 or spend more money?

Re: Sony rx10 goes out of focus

My nex ea50 had a menu button that stopped working a month after I had the camera, there was a second menubutton on theh side so I could still use it, when I sold the camera after a year and I tell...

Re: Optimum length for a Wedding Video

I try to stay under 30 minutes for their wedding film, sometimes 20 minutes, then I offer the ceremony, speeches, acts by friends and first dance as seperate files, I don't make a extra long version...

Re: Sony rx10 goes out of focus

The problem is that if I send the camera in they won't be seeing any problems and I most likely will get it returned with the message that no problem was found, there is definitely something going on...

Re: Sony rx10 goes out of focus

The way it went out of focus is not normal, it gradually shifted focus over a period of 10 minutes, I tried a few new tests today and all seems fine again, I guess it's one of those Sony mysteries.

Re: Using the Panasonic Lumix FZ1000

Which Sony's are you referring to? I never had any issues copying files from mu sony camera's, split files where always joined back automatically without frame loss and it was as easy as copy/paste....

Re: wide angle lenses for dancing

I"m actually not sure if the 8mm would deform more then the 7-14mm when that would be set at 8mm, when I shoot at 9mm with the 9-18 from olympus it also doesn't deform that bad, could it not be that...

Re: Sony rx10 goes out of focus

Yes, absolutely sure I was in manual focus, checked 3 times while it was recording in church and it went out of focus 3 times. It was also preset to focus in the center of the frame so anything from...

Re: Sony rx10 goes out of focus

I just tested twice and it stays in focus now, will do some more testing this week. I have absolutely no idea what was going on but I"m 100% sure I set the camera on manual and when I checked back...

Re: Black bars when underexposing the A7S??

Usually a wrong shutter can cause these kind of lines when shooting under indoor light but then those line move vertically, only yours stay still. You can test if it is this by changing your shutter...

Re: wide angle lenses for dancing

yeah I got the black version, it's very noisy at it's highest iso but if you have enough time to run a neatvideo plugin you might get away with it if the dancefloor is enough lit.

Re: wide angle lenses for dancing

The gopro is not sensitive enough to shoot in darker venues, it has plenty of detail but needs light.

Re: Using the Panasonic Lumix FZ1000

I"m pretty sure if they would invest in full frame camera and primes and do photography only and if they are really good at what they do that investment is quickly earned back. They probably will...

Re: wide angle lenses for dancing

I'd consider the 8mm a specialty lens like a macro, more for some very specific parts of the day, I have got a cheaper 9-18mm (18-36 full frame equiv) and eventhough it's a very sharp lens it's way...

Re: Using the Panasonic Lumix FZ1000

Re: Using the Panasonic Lumix FZ1000

When you see a photo taken with a full frame body coupled with a few fast primes you know why they do :) There is not much of a comparison to a f2.8 to f4.0 lens on a 1 inch sensor camera. Taking...

I currently use a 12mmf2.0 olympus lens on my gh3 for the dancing part but I often find 12mm not wide enough, it would be like a 24mm full frame lens. Olympus now has the 8mm f1.8 for m4/3, it's not...

Re: Second Shooter Add On

The book you refer to is for corporate video, not wedding video, both are 2 totally different worlds so not sure if those tips might be of any benefit, the clients are totally different and one is a...
