Not sure what program you use but I use Tmpgenc authoringworks and it automatically adjusts the bitrate so it always fits on a blu-ray disc, no matter how long the film is.

You are more or less getting the same as what I get for each wedding, remember that a wedding is not one day work, it's a week work including the editing where the actual shooting day can be counted...
