Yes, unless you want a 4K master you always have to work in a 1080p project and drop your 4K footage in there, not sure how Vegas handles this but Edius automatically resizes it to fit a 1080p...

Having a 3840x2160 project only makes sense if you plan on delivering in 4K but if you will deliver HD and dvd only then a 1080p project setting is a better option because you gain the cropping...

My ax100 can do 60 and 100mbs in 4K yet I shoot 60mbs all the time, why, because I compared both and to my eye they look the same, so I save space on my cards yet still am able to deliver a IQ that...

You do have the x70 and the ax100, why don't you place them side by side and shoot something that will stress the codec? It would just take 1 framegrab from each camera to proof what you have been...
