A DV cable is another name for a firewire cable.

It is a standard one, the same firewire cable used to connect cameras by Sony, Panasonic, JVC etc etc.

I have this combination (HV10+ HD-5050), it works just like you would expect, no vignetting anywhere in the zoom range even on full wide angle.

Actually it's not quite that close, in fact it is not even a real person - HV10 1/500 sec shutter speed, hence the lack of motion blur.
