Re: Crane for DSLR use with motorized head... any experiences?

That's kinda what I figured. Until I invent the affordable remote follow focus unit! HaHA!

Re: Video: 5D Mk. II compared to 5D Mk. III

OMG! Look at the high ISO Color fidelity of the mk3! Not that I shoot up above 1600 regularly but that would sure make me want to throw my light kit away! And the lack of noise! Whoo hoo!

Re: Crane for DSLR use with motorized head... any experiences?

I use a Kessler rig with the oracle and revolution. It's fantastic but not cheap. Even though the DSLR is relatively light, don't skimp on the robustness of the crane and tripod. Every shake and bump...

Re: Use of a crane

I own and use a full blown 12' Kessler with oracle and remote head. However...I don't shoot weddings. I do commercial work which allows me to bill accordingly and I've also spent a great deal of time...

Need San Antonio Shooter March 20 or 21

Simple interview to shoot in San Antonio area. An hour of shoot time at most. Prefer current file based camera (not DSLR) such as Canon XF, Sony EX, Panny HPX or better. Will need lighting and audio...

Re: Small Inline Mic Preamp Solutions?

Just gonna throw this out there cause it saved a producer's arse and blew me away how good it sounded... Drop an iPhone in the grooms jacket and forget the lav. The situation occurred when the...

Re: Canon USA Announces EOS 5D Mark III

Im jumping in... If it really has issues, they'll creep up well within BH's return window! I do a lot of still photography too and want a full frame to go with my 7D.
Plus, somebody's gotta test the...

Ok everyone...
Apologies!
The link I listed was to a Kickstarter project which was cancelled a few days ago. Apparently Kickstarter did research on the couple who created the project and determined...

Re: New MultiRotor Company

Good advice to all on knowing the law and a quick story about FAA officials...a few years ago at a large RC meet here in AZ, a full size single seat jet made his halftime flyover of the field. He...

Re: New MultiRotor Company

That is true but here's my point of view..

I'm also a Cineflex operator and when my clients need aerial footage, it costs a minimum of $16k to get the heli in the air for a 4 hour shoot.

Re: New MultiRotor Company

Thanks for the link. I believe I posted a few times in that thread and in many others.

As for stability, it just takes upsizing. Bigger craft fly better. There was a video posted of three life...

Re: Using the Glidecam 2000 pro with a T2i or a 60D

I will second everything Peter said. I use a 4000HD with a vest/arm regularly and it took about a month to get proficient enough at it to use on a paying gig. Even balanced, there's a learning curve...

New MultiRotor Company

Seems like this may be the ticket for a lot of us wanting inexpensive aerial platforms for DSLR and small pro camcorders! (If they only had one of us pros produce their video!)

Re: XF 300 or AG HPX 250?

One equalizer you may have forgotten about is the cost of dealing with P2 cards. They add up quickly and bring the two cams more into an apples/apples comparison price wise.
If you are on a gig and...

Re: stereo recorder for around 400 $ as spare audio recorder on location

H4n is worth the extra money. I've used both. Only quirk I have with the h4n is the battery life. There is a stamina mode but you lose a couple of features. Doesn't seem to affect recording quality....

Re: Kessler and Magic Bullet tilt shift sim

Well, the Kessler site would be best for prices. (my wife might read this! ha ha!)
It really depends on the camera and amount of control you want.
With a 12' and my XF300 it gets heavy pretty quick...

Re: Kessler and Magic Bullet tilt shift sim

What I like about it is the solid-ness and build quality. Though I didn't use it on this shoot I have the revolution head and oracle controller along with a shuttlepod and extra motors. It all works...

Re: Jerky footage with 1DMK4

Second the shutter speed. Though that generally shows up as a strobing, unnatural motion that's pretty consistent. If its more of a stutter that randomly shows up, it could be the playback on your...
