Re: Need some hints on 3d, 360, VR, AR...Don't get it

If you would stop using "3D" as an adjective, you would be better understood. First, you are not using 3D glasses when you use a VR headset and the screen in not split in 3D. Just because there are...

Re: Need some hints on 3d, 360, VR, AR...Don't get it

I make 2D 360 videos and stills. I view them using the Samsung VR headset with my Samsung S7 phone. I do not have to close one eye, I do not get a headache, and I get the immersive experience,...

Re: 360 Comparison Video: Samsung Gear 360 versus Kodak 360 4K

Yes, the Kodaks are way better.

There may be a way of reducing the flare problem. The Kodaks have screwable transparent lens covers. Having these glass domes over the lens may worsen the flare...

Comparison with the dual Kodak 360 4K's

The Samsung is more fun to use - you can take it and its included little tripod anywhere, though given its bulbous shape it is not pocketable. Since you have your phone (S7) anyway, you are always...

No, no don't apologize! Like you I appreciate any info and any efforts to post; I was just surprised that it seemed aimed at me for some reason, rather than a general statement, since it was not...

Re: Science Museum

I am not sure if this was addressed to me (it does say "you" not "we" or "everyone"), or what its relevance is to the video I posted. That video was shot in 4K, not HD, there is no panning or jerky...

Re: Lumix GX85 Traveling Light

I found an old Olympus Zuiko 9-18mm zoom - unstabilized - that now can be employed (with adaptor) for handheld 4K video, using the unique perspective of an ultra wide-angle lens. This lens,which...

Re: Review of the Offical US Version of the Samsung Gear 360

I believe that the S6 cannot stitch a 4K video (processor). So must use the computer program, and get lower quality.

Review of the Offical US Version of the Samsung Gear 360

I received the US version of the Gear 360 camera yesterday. The price was $349, and I got it from Samsung via a special promotion. I did not get any discount, although I did receive (surprise) a free...

GX85 + 25mm f1.7 Unstabilized Lens

I shot this 4K video handheld using the 25mm f1.7 lens on the GX85, to assess its performance using IBIS and in dim light. This is possibly the worst-lit museum in the world, with dark rooms and...

Re: Lumix GX85 Traveling Light

Most museums do not allow tripods, monopods or gimbals. So camera/lens stabilization is essential. A museum video captures what it is like to visit a museum - you see the exhibits, and the people...

Lumix GX85 Traveling Light

The kit lens for the camera is a collapsible, tiny 12-32mm f.3.5-5.6 lens, which is supposed to be very sharp. The combo is thus very small, and the kit lens uses the dual stabilization function of...
