Jan 2013 is the self destruct I believe, but they are talking about a RC b4 that anyway.
Similarities to 7 are many, but 7 was similar to Vista in a lot of ways too......

Ive been using 8 for about 24 hrs now.
Haven't done much with Vegas, just transcoded a few files, seems ok so far.
It's pretty cool, especially the new look explorer. I'm still finding my way...

Easy play codec for Vegas 8?
I need to transcode some files for a friend who has a pretty old PC and only uses Vegas 8.
The files are interlaced 1440x1080 AVCHD from a Sony handycam
Im pretty certain his machine will struggle...

Yesterday I recorded from my GH2's HDMI into my Blackmagic card in uncompressed 1080p yuv.
I then put the 2 clips, the avchd from cam, and the yuv capture, into Vegas on 2 tracks...

I use both platforms, Ive tried a few times to get Vegas going on the Mac side with VMware fusion, the closest to usable was a very light install of XP on an SSD ...
