Re: PRESS picture function not working on C100 MK1

I'm looking to take the full video signal, 0% IRE to whatever the top end is with super whites, (110% IRE?), and "press" the whole signal down so it does not go over 100%. That's how the function is...

PRESS picture function not working on C100 MK1

Hi there. I posted this on the other forum, but still no insight.

Super nerdy question here. No matter what I try, I can't get the PRESS setting to have any effect on the picture on my mk1's. ...

Re: C100 - No hope for fast shutter without flicker???

Yeah, if you're still getting flicker at 1/50th or 1/60th (depending on the electricity in the country you're in) then the problem is probably the lights, not the camera. I'm running into cheap...

Re: C100 - No hope for fast shutter without flicker???

I guess a lot of camera operators and cinematographers would say there's no point in violating the 180 degree shutter unless there's a need for an effect (1/48 for 24p, 1/60 for 30p, and 1/120 for...

Re: C100 Missing Frames Between Split Files

Windows Premiere Pro user here. I work with both Mk1's and Mk2's. I never had an issue syncing long takes with the MTS files after using the data import utility to copy the files. I hated having...

Re: ISO Talk on C100 MK2

It also greatly depends on which picture profile you're using. I've found that WIDE DR is the worst for high ISO noise, particularly on the MK1.

Re: C100 Mark II Shutter Speed Changes with Framerate

Yes, I'm seeing that too. Is the camera keeping the same actual shutter speed you just used, not the shutter angle? So, if you had 180 degrees on 24p, that's 1/48. What degree would 1/48 read if...

Re: Lights on stands at the reception

By this logic I assume you're against DJ's having speakers elevated off the ground because a child might run into them? Wouldn't that hold true for anything on or near the dance floor?

Maybe...

Re: Lights on stands at the reception

Paul, I was thinking more like 100W to 250W, not 1000.

Which LED lights do you use?

Re: Suggestions, especially for color grading?

My advice, and I know you didn't ask for it, is that you're making this a bit too complicated for yourself. At the price point you're doing these videos I don't think it's worth it to fuss with...

Re: Suggestions, especially for color grading?

I think the colors look pretty cool, Robert. But do you think you're getting a better "look" grading cinestyle than if you just went with a more colorful profile from the start? Neutral, Faithful,...

The little darling looks great, but I can't find any info about when it is coming out. Does anyone know?

Re: Lights on stands at the reception

Thanks, Arthur. Stories like that are the reason I'm going to try very dim, focus-able lights high on light stands. At least for the formal dances, and if I'm lucky, for the grand entrance, cake...

Re: Lights on stands at the reception

Thanks, Art. For some reason Lowell pro-light is the sort of light I had in mind. Do you have a battery solution for it, or do you always run of AC? And why not an LED for that main light by the...

Lights on stands at the reception

Hello friends. I've decided to begin bringing my own lights to receptions. I know a lot of high end videographers do it, and I've run into too may DJ's or Venue employees who equate romantic...

Re: canon 5d mark ii vs 6d

I would say the 6D. It's newer, dramatically better in low light, adds 720/60p, and doesn't over heat (not sure if the 5D2 had an overheating problem like the 7D and T2i did).

Re: *** PLEASE HELP!!! Canon C100 Picture Profiles for Weddings

On the other board, Paul Frederick posted a modified WIDE DR profile called WIDE_PF. I think it looks great out of the box. Roughly the same dr as WIDE DR, but with little or no extra grading...

Re: Do you shoot the whole day in 50/60p for a few slow-mo scenes?

Yes, it does happen sometimes :)

But I can make it work. I think the results are worth little extra headaches.

Re: Do you shoot the whole day in 50/60p for a few slow-mo scenes?

I'm constantly switching between 3 speeds, and they all play on a 24p timeline and 24p final file:

-24p for footage where sound needs to be synced (speaking of any kind, especially speeches and...

Re: Follow Focus Aids for Bridal Entry

This may not be the answer you want, but since I got the C100 with the Dual Pixel AF, every bridal entry I've done has gone like a dream. Because of the AF, I've been able to use 70-200 2.8 at a...

Re: Slow motion clips techniques?

Derek, what NLE are you using?

I use Premiere Pro CC, and a much faster solution would be to simply import the 60p clips, interpret them to 23.976 in the project panel, drop them on the 1080p/24p...

Re: Will 4K cameras be practical for weddings?

I really don't think it's fair to compare the SD-to-HD transition to the transition from HD to 4K+. SD was nowhere near the quality of large screen cinema projection. 4K on the other hand is...
