Re: LCD Monitor

I doubt it. You'd be better off buying a cheap portable LCD TV with a video in. That's what I did at first, although I've since graduated to a SmallHD DP6.

Re: Is anyone using a glidecam HD100 with the xf100?

FYI I only use 1/3 of the weights that came with the HD2000, although I haven't used it with the LCD display yet.

Re: Is anyone using a glidecam HD100 with the xf100?

Thank you!

I just recently got a SmallHD DP6 LCD monitor, and if I add that to the "flying" rig, along with anything else, it'd probably be too heavy for the 1000. But I am a little...

Re: XF-100 - My impressions after a 100 hours with the camera plus some test videos

Thanks for taking the time to do this.

I have one comment/observation, apropos your comment "As a consequence there are always memory gaps between adjacent clips and chip cards can never be filled...

Re: Jerky footage with 1DMK4

The "jerkiness" may not be the shutter speed at all. In my experience, when the aperture changes whilst shooting video, it's a very abrupt change, and looks bad in the file. I'd never use anything...

Re: Is anyone using a glidecam HD100 with the xf100?

I went for the HD2000 so I could also use it with my Canon DSLRs. I'm very happy with it, but it's tricky to get it balanced to take full advantage.

Much of this footage was shot with my XF100 on...

Re: SmallHD DP6 arrived

I did a shoot with it today (with firmware 2.0) on my 1D Mark IV, and the thing is so amazingly sharp that I didn't need to use focus assist or any of the other bells and whistles, even at f1.4 on my...

Re: Small HD DP6 Review by Andrew Dean

Mine just arrived. Awkward with the 5D Mark II, but butter with the XF100. Gorgeous picture, and really excellent build quality.

SmallHD DP6 arrived

Lovely match for my XF100. I need a better HDMI cable, as the port is in a very awkward position. But the picture is beautiful, and I'm really looking forward to using it shortly on our next shoot.

Re: Can the 5D now shoot longer than 12 min?

The recording limit is actually a function of the format of CF cards. All the camera manufacturers have elected to stay with Microsoft's FAT32 format for CF cards. This format imposes a maximum file...

Re: xf100 final cut pro x upgrade

What version of FCP are you using? FCP7 (and FCS3) work great with my XF100 using Log & Transfer. Not sure how much more simple it could be.

I have no interest in the "downgrade" from FCP7 to FCX...

Re: Thinking about the XF100

Just have a second, but I'm a very happy XF100 user.

FCP7 native support is great. The "MXF" file format is seamlessly (and quickly) converted to .MOV when you use FCP's "Log & Transfer" function....

Re: why can't I copy contents of two cards to hard drive?

On my Mac, I've taken to copying cards to my Mac's Desktop using a simple "Rsync" command in Terminal:

rsync -av /Volumes/[name of card here] ~/Desktop/CARD-`date +%m%d%H%M`

This creates a...

XF100, Glidecam and 1DM4 sample

Re: XF100 and steadicam

I just recently bought a Glidecam HD2000 on the advice of quite a few folks here and elsewhere. I am using it with my XF100 and hope to give it a fly with my 1D Mark IV and 5D Mark II, also. It's a...
