Re: Any programs / codecs known to conflict w/ Cineform?

Hi all,

The saga continues.... I upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit (that is, I bought Win7 64 OEM and rather than install it, I upgraded Vista 64). Works a treat, except with my footage.

Before, I...

Sony Z5E, Vista 64 Home Premium MPEG

Hi all,

I've been trying to test Cineform products and I am having a great deal of difficulty.

Basically, I'm shooting with a Sony Z5E and a Sony FX1. I shoot in 1080i50 and capture using...

Re: Partnering with Venues?

Interesting reading the exchange between Philip and George. Even more interesting because I am a stones throw away from Manchester (in Westhoughton) and I get nothing from the big hotels around here...

Re: Any programs / codecs known to conflict w/ Cineform?

Okay, Cineform Support can play my Sony Z5E HDV 1080i PAL MPEGs captured using Premiere Pro CS5, so it must be a Windows problem. Fresh install on Vista 64 Home Premium.... it doesn't play the MPEGs....

Re: Any programs / codecs known to conflict w/ Cineform?

Hi all,

This CineForm idea isn't really going anywhere. I don't really have the time to try and get what is essentially a brand new product installed on a clean and patched OS working. I logged a...

Re: Any programs / codecs known to conflict w/ Cineform?

Hi Leo,

That's interesting... It certainly seems like Cineform NeoScene is a work in progress! :-) I also saw a post somewhere that NeoScene is intended for the prosumer market. Still, it should...

12 Gig Corsair XMS3 RAM
Asus P6-X58D-E mainboard
nVidia GTX470

Kind regards,

Re: Any programs / codecs known to conflict w/ Cineform?

Hi Shawn,

I have had similar problems with Neoscene. Originally, I tried it last year on the trial version and I had major problems with converting files from my Sony Z5E (1080i @ 50Hz). I put the...

Hi John,

I've had zero problems with CS5 capturing 1080i HDV from either of my cameras. I did have problems with Vegas 9.0 when I first got the Z5E. Seems I had to clean the heads a couple of...

Hi all,

I recreated those faults I mentioned earlier. I have screen grabs, to avoid any confusion.

The first problem is with capturing using HDLink. It starts to capture from my Sony FX1E and...

Hi Pete,

I reckon you're right. I installed Neoscene trial as John suggested. It happily converts my M2T files that I captured in Vegas 9.0 a long time ago. I used to capture in Vegas and edit in...

Hi John,

When I boot up Encore CS5, use Dynamic Link to open a Premiere Pro CS5 project and import a sequence, the edit box sits there for an age - maybe ten minutes - before it finally gives me...

Just to be clear... I'm thinking $129.00 for Neoscene is easy money for a quality product, but $499.00 for NeoHD is probably not money well spent - after all, I can happily edit HDV natively on my...

Hi John,

Your post is really useful. Thanks for that. :-)

I have a couple of other questions....

1. Can I capture directly using HDLink in Neoscene? Or does HDLink only come with NeoHD?
2....

I am trying to find out some more information about Cineform, having seen it mentioned so much in the forums. I have had a look at the Cineform website and I think I understand it. Am I...

That's precisely why I said I don't purposefully compromise the quality of my work based on price. However, it stands to reason that a videographer charging £650.00 isn't going to produce the same...

Hi all,

Just double checking on this zooming thing.... When you say zooms are bad, you're talking about one shot which is wide, then zooms to close?

I'm making the distinction because I figured...

Hi Greg,

Thanks for your message. I take your point about the zooms (I think you mean when I zoom in as opposed to having the shot composed zoomed in?). In these shots, I wanted to use both the...

Hi all,

I'm using MBL on wedding videos. An 8 minute sequence in Premiere Pro CS5 (Vista 64) will typically take 4 hours to export 1080i to 1080p. That's using the 'warm spot focus' preset on...
