Re: New Canon Cinema EOS C200 and 200B

I don't know about you, but my workflow involves ingesting XF-AVC files into Final Cut Pro, which "optimizes" (in the background) those files into whatever flavor of ProRes I prefer for editing....

Re: New Canon Cinema EOS C200 and 200B

Tell us what you really think, Cliff. :-)

So fine...the camera isn't for you. I, for one, think canon has a hit on it's hands, and I think Cinema Raw Light is a true game changer for a lot of...

Re: New Canon Cinema EOS C200 and 200B

The part about the codec being 8 bit. The chart in the article shows both the bit depth and rate as "TBA" .

Temporarily false. Potentially true. Take your pick.

Re: New Canon Cinema EOS C200 and 200B

I believe those words were spoken by a Canon person in an interview with Nino Leitner on Cinema 5d.

but did ya notice that canon already has a couple of mini-white papers describing the "camera...

Re: New Canon Cinema EOS C200 and 200B

Hey D,

I remember seeing the footage from "To the Dog Dish" from the Canon C200, and "FlashDance2017" from the C200, and "Phil's Long Slide into ISO" from the C200. So yeah those three camera's...

Re: New Canon Cinema EOS C200 and 200B

It is a little troubling that Canon has introduced yet another camera in which the discussion has trailed off into debate about 1980's Aussie Enviro Pop. :-)

Just wanted to share my experiences...

Re: Panasonic EVA1 announced at CineGear 2017

I'm not sure how many bars this camera is raising. It seems clearly aimed at the young, entry level, Ursa Mini / Fs5 user offering a relatively low bitrate solution for 4k60p and "faster is better"...

Re: Panasonic EVA1 announced at CineGear 2017

Dock to dish is all they are showing. My point was regarding projection. The paramount screen is big and I was sitting pretty close. I've seen a number of canon cameras demoed there. Other than some...

Re: Panasonic EVA1 announced at CineGear 2017

Mitch Gross said during the presentation that they plan to add a 5.7k raw output in the future, and that the 4K is oversampled from the 5.7k.

Re: Panasonic EVA1 announced at CineGear 2017

Of course the Canon is actually a camera, that takes pictures.. the Panasonic didn't even have a sensor in it. Looks a little like a c300, an fs7, and a dvx100 had a threesome. Impressive specs for...

Re: New Canon Cinema EOS C200 and 200B

...in 1080p.

FWIW... Cloakroom Media just posted a couple of short tests. This one shows face detection performing incredibly well in a scene that my C300II would probably screw up (especially in...

Re: New Canon Cinema EOS C200 and 200B

I keep wondering if Canon has just sort of screwed up the communication on what this RAW light really is. Once I watched the overview video that explains the Raw Development, and the BTS video which...

Re: New Canon Cinema EOS C200 and 200B

My first impression regarding the C200 was why the lack of XF-AVC, because in my limited view and experience with Cinema DNG RAW, I've always wondered who has the time for needing to "process" every...

Re: New Canon EOS Cinema Camera Coming!

Back to that new mini C300II -- anyone notice the rear view shot shows it without an EVF?

now back to the important stuff. I shoulder-mount when it's the look I want. I "ready-rig" when I have a...

Re: C300 MKII: Purple Lines appearing

I'll be honest...we've seen this kind of CMOS smear from this camera since the earliest shown prototypes. I don't think it's something that is going to go away on Canon's end. Many cameras exhibit...

Re: FCPX created duplicate library

Yeah...both of these libraries were over 700 gb, so it was starting to strain things. I ended up backing up the "old" library, and then deleting it on the system drives. Didn't seem to cause any...

Re: FCPX created duplicate library

yeah...It's a little fuzzy, but I think I must have launched from one of the final cut Backups after the crash, but it's just strange that it's built a whole new library, and that it's writing all...

FCPX created duplicate library

Not sure what happened here, and I've searched the internets to no avail, so I thought I'd ask.

I think a week or so ago, I had a system crash, and after rebooting, I relaunched FCPX from a...

Re: C300 monitor unit dying

My c300 took a header and busted the mount off in the middle of a 4 day shoot. I got a new one from canon service for about 1200 if I remember right...might be less now..

Re: Matching C300 and C300 Mark II

I saw something in one of the white papers that led me to this solution. It's dumbing down the mark II substantially, but it was canon's approach to matching the cameras.

Shoot Canon Log or maybe...

Re: C100 Mark II & Sachtler FSB 4 : Jittery Footage

My comment about being a rock star and flouting "the rules" was based on my memory of seeing Punch Drunk Love which is filled with ultra fast tracking shots, whip pans and other Paul Thomas Anderson...

Re: C100 Mark II & Sachtler FSB 4 : Jittery Footage

Re: C300 MkII Monitor Banding

Not specific to your question, but you would only see banding in theory with 8bit material on a 10bit monitor...not the other way around. As for the lcd on the c300II, you shouldn't be seeing any...
