Re: GH3 Corrupt MTS Files

Funny thing in my experience is that the only brand of card that has caused a corrupt card -- as in, the computer can't read the data and you have to run recovery software on it to recreate...

Re: GH3 Corrupt MTS Files

Thanks Bruce, you may have nailed the problem for me. Up until a couple days ago, I was convinced that I was just buying crappy card readers, because they always performed intermittently -- they...

Re: GH3 Corrupt MTS Files

Just to clarify the solutions I've tried to repair the clips:

1. No Adobe program will open the clips, as I thought I'd just take them into After Effects and render them out again.
2. Panasonic...

GH3 Corrupt MTS Files

I've been shooting weddings with GH3's for the past few months, and something I'm noticing is that I'm getting 1 or 2 corrupt clips on each card. The problem always happens when I try to bring the...

Re: I put recorders everywhere at church. :)

I use 2 Olympus DM420's, a Zoom H4N, and 5-6 camera sources for Catholic weddings that routinely run over an hour, and have never had an issue with any of my audio drifting -- they always sync...

(2) GH1's, 14-42mm lens, (5) batteries, filters

Because I've been upgrading and incurring quite a bit of expense, I am looking to sell the following:

(2) hacked GH1's - great condition
(1) Panasonic Lumix 14-42mm lens
(5) Panasonic DMW-BLB13...

Re: GH3: questions about the displays

This is my only gripe about the GH3. I've been shooting on it for several months now, and have lost LOTS of shots because I thought I was recording, but in fact was not.

This is a huge issue, and...

Re: Packaging of final product

Just an FYI to everyone using Jewelboxing: I had to contact them about an order issue, and they told me that they're closing down the operation in a couple months. Now I have to find a similar...

Re: Clip 'sticher' for GH2/3

I used the tried-and-true DOS batch file method. Bulletproof on the PC.

Great video Andrew. My GH3 will arrive today, and I can't wait to play around with it.

Re: Church show with video projection screen on stage?

That can be a real pain -- I had to figure out what to do last summer when a couple incorporated a video on a projection screen as part of the ceremony. The church was dim, and exposure was driving...

Re: About to buy a GoPro HD Hero 2

They're absolutely worth it, but only under decent lighting conditions. I use my GoPro's at every wedding, and they've added tremendous value to the final product. I use them sparingly, though.

As...

Re: Go Pro cameras

John, Nigel, and George:

I bought the WiFi Combo Kit for the specific reason of monitoring/controlling the GoPros on my phone and tablet. However, there is no app now (even though the packaging...

Re: Go Pro cameras

I just bought a second Hero 2 because I'm so excited about the first one I bought. The possibilities boggle my mind now that I've been playing with them. Thank you all for helping to convert me from...

Re: Shooting my first wedding next weekend

I use the exact same model as Taky, and it's fantastic. The batteries last FOREVER.

Re: Wifi back pack and remote ??

I returned the WiFi and Remote yesterday. The staff at Best Buy seemed baffled that most of the claims on the box are 100% false. In exchange, I picked up the battery backpack and some additional...

Re: Wifi back pack and remote ??

Thanks Chris. I guess now I'll need the $39 skeleton housing for the GoPro (that's one expensive piece of plastic), and a monitor of some sort. I think I may be able to use my Galaxy Tab, if there's...

Re: Wifi back pack and remote ??

Hi Chris!

I'm definitivly lookling into returning the Wifi combo and investing into what you've recommended. I just felt so technological with the smartphone/tablet integration, it's sad that they...

Re: Wifi back pack and remote ??

Oh, and how about this ... the more I read about the Wifi/Remote, the more upset I get. As of now, the only things you get out of the box with this are: 1) the ability to operate the shutter...

Re: Wifi back pack and remote ??

I just picked up the Wifi Combo kit (BacPac and Remote). However, firmware updates are required, and that process is highly buggy. I can't even use it yet, as I'm in conversation with tech support...

Re: Go Pro cameras

Well hell . . . I just couldn't stand the pressure anymore and I bought one. At the rehearsal last night for the wedding I shot today, I simply had nowhere to place a camera in the back for a wide...

Re: Go Pro cameras

Andrew: amazing video.

John: it's the creative stuff like this that is really tempting me. I guess I had seen the GoPro as a means for one specific purpose for me -- an easily-mountable, discreet...

Re: Go Pro cameras

This has really interested me. As a wedding videographer, I want to have cameras that are nearly hidden and as unobtrusive as possible. Churches in my area are very strict, and very difficult to...

Re: Smartphone Video Footage from Guests

Good idea, but it sounds like an organizational nightmare :)

Not all phones work the same way, or have the same connections. Video formats also differ, as does size/quality.

I think the only...
