Advice on updating my audio equipment

I think what is going on here is a calibration issue. The lens was just not ceeded well with the body. These adapters are terrible. I never had the problems I have now when I was using modern Canon...

The problem is that when I view the footage live from the on camera monitor, it looks great. But when I open the file just straight from the folder on my computer it looks way blown out.

I keep having the problem of over exposing and not even knowing it. I adjust the image using the camera monitor and it looks great!...

I do have an external drive with eSATA. I also have an internal that runs 7200rpm, though its 500gb.. But I did that to RAID 0 two 500gb...
