Re: Vegas Pro 13 is Here

I always go for the upgrade special this might be the first one I skip purely on the grounds that the new icon looks like it was designed by a 3 year old :P Jokes aside I was hoping for a major...

Re: C100: How loud is your fan?

Mind you my fan never goes on unless I turn it on manually or go into media mode.

Re: C100: How loud is your fan?

Mine is not totally silent, I do hear it when I put the camera close to my ear but I doubt a mic will pick it up.

Re: A7s or GH4 - which for you?

You can't really tell noise levels from web videos, they are so compressed there isn't enough data to show how much noise there really is. Personally I easily shoot 8000 ISO on my C100 heck I even...

Re: A7s or GH4 - which for you?

The GH4 actually does 4K, the A7s doesn't. Sony has a line of professional cameras to protect like the FS700, F5 & F55, they won't release a DSLR that competes with those. Panasonic is more flexible...

Re: Editing C100 MTS in Vegas Pro?

Mike I edit C100 footage in Vegas Pro 12 without issues at full quality however Vegas is prone to instability, I built a new system recently & mine in stable now. Turn GPU acceleration off & don't...

Re: Levelator Lifesaver!!

Drag & Drop :) I've also been using Levelator for many years, I run my voice audio through it from time to time. Great piece of software.

Re: Need Feedback on C100 purchase

For sports you need slow motion & the C100 doesn't have slow motion.

Re: C100: Be happy!

I actually think the audio is a non-issue. Splitting stereo to left & right in post takes no effort, I prefer one file actually & no audio playback on 'last scene playback' doesn't bother me either.

Re: C100: Be happy!

I'm happy with my C100's, image quality is great, I don't need better low light it's pretty amazing as is & best of all is it's a no fuss camera. I don't want to waste my time rendering a 4K image to...

Re: PLEASE HELP!!! What lens or lenses for wedding videos???

Hi John, unless you have a compelling reason to shoot EOS Standard don't do it, it's a cheap look, go Wide DR. 60i is a very video-ish look if you don't see it now give it some time, you will train...

Re: Pro 13 press announcement

Jim I agree with you my work around is also to render to Cineform then let Adobe Media Encoder do the rest. As much as I've tried to switch to Premiere Pro, Vegas still wins on speed and edit...

Re: PLEASE HELP!!! What lens or lenses for wedding videos???

I have a the 955 that came with the camera and I got an extra 975. I start filming around 10AM till 11PM at which time I've drained both. I tend to keep my camera turned on most of the day. I do pack...

Re: PLEASE HELP!!! What lens or lenses for wedding videos???

John definitely get two BP-975 not the BP-955! Two 975 will last a full day & you won't have to worry about charging. If money is an issue get the BP-970G which is much cheaper but doesn't have the...

Re: PLEASE HELP!!! What lens or lenses for wedding videos???

Unfortunately there isn't one lens that will do everything. Here a list of the lenses in my kit & why I have them:

1x Tokina 11-16mm F2.8
For getting establishing shots, like buildings, décor,...

Re: Just finished up my first real estate shoot - opinions please!

Visually the quality is great but that music style is not, audio is 50% of the production, the music definitely kills it for me also sounds a bit low res like its 96 bitrate? Be careful with those...

Re: Microphone Madness Mics?

I ended up buying the OST TL-40 & 801. I couldn't really find anything about MM on the web so went with what is recommended, OST. I'm impressed with the construction quality of the OST mic's. The 801...

Re: Hot swapping lenses?

Re: Hot swapping lenses?

Having discussed this now & working in the field over the weekend was interesting. My conclusion is that it's not practical to power down the camera to swap lenses at all. I use a ThinkTank Modular...

Re: Hot swapping lenses?

I have hot swapped lenses on my C100 hundreds of times already if not thousands over the past few months & everything still works. Must be a C300 issue? Oh well I'll be more careful but don't think...

Re: Hot swapping lenses?

Problem is it's not something that I can stop doing. I film live events & shutting down the camera to change lenses takes about 10 seconds which is a disaster in a live event scenario.

Hot swapping lenses?

I swap out lenses while recording all the time on my C100, I haven't given it much thought and haven't experienced any problems. My friend seems to think that this is dangerous for the lens however...

Re: C100 Camera Continuous Recording?

Chris I read that but what does it all mean? The diagram over complicates the explanation & doesn't help much. It is my understanding that it simply inserts markers for your editing software or does...
