Re: Manfrotto 438 tripod head leveller

I actually have one of those and I can't remember where I got it. I know I never used it. But give me an address and I'll send it to you. In return, you can do a solid for someone else down the road....

Re: Sachtler FSB 8 with carbon fiber quick release legs

Why not? It's downhill all the way from here, right?

I don't know anything about the price or procedure for shipping to Oz, however.

Re: Nuisance guests

Personally, I don't see how having a good time excuses being rude, selfish and thoughtless.

But I'm an old curmudgeon, so don't listen to me.

Rude people are why God invented squirt guns, as I...

Re: Sachtler FSB 8 with carbon fiber quick release legs

I notice B & H has lowered their price to 2,400.00, so I'll drop mine to $1,600.

Re: canon 70d switching off sometimes while recording?

Not necessarily batteries... sometime that problem is from taking a card from one camera and using it another. I started formatting my cards every time I put them in, and in the 3 1/2 years since I...

Sachtler FSB 8 with carbon fiber quick release legs

It is listed on B&H for $2,600. I'll sell mine (in excellent condition) for $1,800.

I've recently...

Re: Explained: How To Be A Filmmaker

Making your wife groan isn't always a bad thing.

Listing examples of how it would be a good thing is an inappropriate use of this board, however.

Re: What Camera To Shoot This?

Holy crap! Did you see the big crack in the rock under his feet? In addition to whatever camera he's got on that rig, he might consider wearing a parachute.

Re: On-board mic

The Rode VideoMicPro will considerably improve your audio. Make sure you get a furry wind cover, because the foam one is almost ineffective. Also, crank your camera's audio gain down to just a click...

Re: Odd...But Useful Gear

Even though I use a Sachtler tripod/fluid head, I still attach a long elastic hair band to the end of the pan handle to get buttery-smooth movement because the elastic band dampens the start & stop....

Re: Left my monopod at a wedding over the weekend.. fml.

Re: IS lenses and handhled shooting

I've found that many IS lenses make just enough noise to hose your audio if you're trying to get nat sounds from a camera-mounted shotgun.
