Re: Video in a darkroom
On a 60d 12800 iso will look awefull, at 3200 iso you are already looking at using neatvideo. Didn"t think about the 5DIII, think you can safely use 12800 iso on that one and should be very cheap to...

Re: Video in a darkroom
How does the c300 film under these circumstances, with very high gain? If that would be the case a Sony FS100 would be a cheaper option to rent as it can record at very (maybe equally?) high gain...

Re: Video in a darkroom
You can always replace that green colour with any other in post or just turn it to black and white, I just remembered that my sony xr520 has night vision so I checked, I can't see that it's...

Re: 1st wedding video
Yes, seen that one before, I think his grading skills are off the chart. I have not been able to make my dslr colors "pop" like he can or like in this trailer give it a cinematic tone. Wish there...

Re: 1st wedding video
Those guys make very nice videos, it's a 3 man shoot so impossible to do if you work alone, like me, but what I find great as well is that everything they shoot intercuts so well together, which...

Yes, I see what you mean now, that however is a speciality of its own, you see the guy doesn't have that good video skills but I bet he knows what questions to ask and when. I do however think that...

Re: Low Light on Canon XH A1s
Yeah, these rich ex1 user can have it all :D But seriously, a t3i just a bit better then the xh-a1 in low light? I have a t2i and a xh-a1 and I get less visible grain at 1600 iso with the dslr then...

Re: Video in a darkroom
Would a small handicam (or I think also a canon xf100 has it) with that night vision gimmick don't do the trick? But I guess it will transmit unsafe light as well to see in the dark.

Re: 1st wedding video
I like discussions like this :) Anyways, some time ago I thought, "lets do a save the date, that should be fun" Its a concept that has not been established that well here. (you hardly see any STD or...

Re: 1st wedding video
No, there is no paying market for this type of documentary here, what we see on tv doesn't cost the couple anything, for the tv makers it's ofcourse big bucks because you do have a big tv audience...

That's exactly what I mean with real story telling, we have this kind of program in Belgium as well with the main focus on all the preparation of the wedding as they follow the couples around for...

I just had a Déjà vu, something tells me we already had this discussion before ;) but since we are at it, there is one thing I like to add in regard to storytelling, as that is often also used as a...

Re: Low Light on Canon XH A1s
I mainly see it on fast movement and I also think I wrongly described it because I meant motion blur if that makes any sence, had to use it once and the bride was talking and nervously waving her...

Re: Low Light on Canon XH A1s
From technical point of view you are right, if you want to do video right and it's too dark, you add light, period. But at real world weddings everybody hates that guy with that blinding videolight,...

Re: Low Light on Canon XH A1s
Don't know about the xa10 but I have a xr520 that has a spotfocus feature, you just touch an area on the lcd screen and it focusses on that point, I can also manually adjust exposure with a small...

Re: Best low-light camcorder $2500-$3500
the xr520 is allready an older camera, these days you have these Sony HDR-CX730/740 which again are an improvement and there was a topic on this forum comparing such a sony to the xa-10 and the canon...

What do you mean by "elsewhere"? With these type of camera you always loose quite some ease of use, where bigger camera's have all controlls laid out on the side, easily accessible and give you 3...

Re: Best low-light camcorder $2500-$3500
If you want to stay on the Canon side, the xa10 seems to be doing remarkably well in that area and will outperform your xh-a1 easily. I use a sony xr520 with my xh-a1 and that camera also gives much...

You have done what you can to film under these kind of circumstances, only thing left is experimenting with some low light presets of which I never was a fan of. I do remember one preset, can't...

If you push a xlh1 against your shoulder, and then let go, what happens? It immediately drops to the ground like a brick, well, that's the weight you have to carry in your hands. I have had the honor...
