Re: Drones - How Difficult to Learn to Fly?

Sorry, I disagree. The Phantom3 is about as basic a drone as you can get. If this were an RC helicopter then I would agree about the simulator but if you don't have one this is about as beginner as...

Re: Drones - How Difficult to Learn to Fly?

It depends on the equipment they're using for the aerial. If there flying a Red Epic/Dragon then they're not using a Phantom, probably a custom MR and they can charge as much as $4000 to $6000 per...

Re: Drones - How Difficult to Learn to Fly?

All good advice.

Go slow and keep in mind the further into the wilderness you go the more likely you are to turn the drone into a paperweight if you crash it.

If your thinking about a Phantom3...

Re: Advice on shooting from a helicopter

Depending on the model of Huey there might be some differences. Most UH-1H and newer have soundproofing that is snapped in, generally you can unsnap it near the door you want to shoot out of and...

Re: Advice on shooting from a helicopter

Nice work. The most expensive part of this solution, and the one we have the least control over is the helicopter itself. This discussion also runs the gamut regarding budget. Robert I think this...

2015 Tevis Cup

This was shot at the 2015 Tevis Cup 100 mile endurance race. Unfortunately I couldn't fly my drone so I could get any actual race footage so I just shot the crews.

Re: Sec 333 Exemption

So you have to kind of have to ask the question, what's the point? That's exactly what some people are doing and for the manual they're just providing a link to DJI's documentation.

Re: Drones delay Firefighter response in CA fire

I think there's another side to this issue and that's all the idiots that believe the reports about drones impeding firefighters ability to do their jobs in the first place.

Most of the people...

Re: Drones delay Firefighter response in CA fire

What amazes me, not sure if this has been mentioned or not but everyone seems to take it as fact that five, or any drones impeded the fire fighters in any way. Just because some reporter puts it in...

Re: Australia in 4K- downloadable

I'm from Geelong, living in California for the past 30 years and this footage sure made me homesick.

Re: GH4 in the Wilderness

Hi Mark.

If your not using the GH4 for 4K your really missing out on the magic of this camera!

Re: Learning copter: video/FPV questions

Do you want to become a drone operator or do aerial photography? Far too many people get hung up on building their own quad, when I started you had to build your own quad, but now there are a lot of...

Re: Import GH4 clips into FCP 7

Not sure I understand the issue. Are you talking about importing 4K to a 1080P timeline or 1080 to a 1080 timeline.

I only shoot 4K with the GH4 now. The few HD projects I shot with the GH4 I...

Re: full frame lens for 6d

I have the 70-200 f./4 IS. it works very well.

I've been using it on my GH4 with the Metabones Speed adapter which makes it a 2.8, with IS, and lowers the crop factor.

Re: Enrique Iglesias Accident

For stupidity!?

There's a lot of scenarios where drones are used and people are hyper sensitive to to safety etc., this isn't one of them.

This is a great example of why it has taken so long...

I shot this on a GH4.

Re: Beer Delivery Service by Drone

Yeah, I might have backed the people away from the table a bit and used a longer lens but this was great. Nice job.
