Re: Hellow USB-C

Hey Seth,

I saw that little Samsung on Amazon and almost bought it. I'm sure if you're like me, you've ended up with an army of drives over the years, so I didn't want to prematurely buy it and...

Hellow USB-C

Sooo, the stork delivered our new iMac Pro and low and behold, the thing has all USB-C ports, not Thunderbolt 2. And all my G-Tech drives have Thunderbolt 2. I got one adapter from Apple for 50.00...

Re: After 3 years, is CC working? Worth it?

Like others, I'm stuck with going with the CC since I migrated my iMac 2012 to my new iMac Pro. I already have learned most of FCPX which I bought, but have been frustrated with some of the...

Re: A few weeks in here is my configuration.

Re: Two shotguns.

This is my event roaming rig. So live sound, impromptu interviewing, etc. I use this on a mono-pod roaming around. The two shotguns worked well on my last two events. The...

Re: Vegas Pro alternative

John,

Here's what I did a couple of months ago. Since I was buying a C200, I wanted to see how my Windows/Vegas machine could do with the 4k footage, not the Camera Raw, just the 4k. So I...

Re: Vegas Pro alternative

I gave up on Vegas when Sony sat on it. I know I sound disgruntled but after Magix bought it and released their update which was a lot of stuff we'd been asking Sony for for years, I gave up and...

Re: Mono Pod too squeaky

Ok, so here's my story. I have two of the Manfrotto 561BHDV-1 and I've tried to deal with this squeaking and still had an issue. So at my last wedding, I asked the cook for vegetable oil. And so...

Re: A few weeks in here is my configuration.

Oops, I should have rotated it.

And yes, there are three joysticks, one in the rear of the body, one on the monitor and one on the right grip.

That picture shows the small battery. The big...

A few weeks in here is my configuration.

Well, I've had my C200 for a few weeks. Shot a couple of events with it. My early impression is it was the right move for me. I wanted a hybrid camera between an DSLR and my XF300s which have auto...

Re: Viewing scopes in the multicam edit.

Yeah, not sure. When I open angles my scopes disappear and visa versa.

Viewing scopes in the multicam edit.

I stepped away from FCPX for a while and apparently they changed a few things.

I have a multicam edit, and every time I pull up the scopes, the Angle Editor disappears. Is there a way to have...

Re: Mac Pro status

As a side note. According to my Apple store, Apple is not going to repair or upgrade the new iMac Pro, I and other parents will have to take it to a licensed Apple repair shop. Good times.

Re: Mac Pro status

Well, Apple gave birth to mine and it was delivered by a stork today. All I've done so far is transfer stuff, and fiddle with FCPX. I'll try and update feedback here as I go. The only upgrades I...

Re: iMac Pro editing machine for C200

Update:

So after researching the iMac Pro to death, thinking I knew pretty much the ins and outs of what I was looking for, I went to my local Apple store to discuss options. I asked the sales...

Re: iMac Pro editing machine for C200

Good point Gary. I called Adobe upper support and they could relay numbers for the upgrades, but they don't have an official announcement to say, put more money in this or that. According to...

Re: iMac Pro editing machine for C200

That's a good point. I've already toyed around with FCPX but am thinking Adobe Premier if FCPX doesn't do it for me. I'm a long time Vegas editor, but I'm looking to move on.

I'll be sure to...

Re: iMac Pro editing machine for C200

And this is what I'm leaning towards.

3.2GHz 8-core Intel Xeon W processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.2GHz
64GB 2666MHz DDR4 ECC memory
1TB SSD
Radeon Pro Vega 64 with 16GB of HBM2 memory
Magic...

Re: iMac Pro editing machine for C200

Well here is the comparison. What I see glaring at me is the number of cores.

Re: iMac Pro editing machine for C200

I'm wondering if I should just get the current trashcan and add a nice LG monitor to it. That's the same price as the baseline iMac Pro.... sigh. Mo money. lol

I just used this link,...

Re: First project with the Canon C200

Thanks for that information John. I'm still evaluating the camera. That's a real bummer about the C-fast cards. I just hope they come down in price.

Re: First project with the Canon C200

Hey Max,

Do you have any numbers on the space needed for Raw Light recording?

I'm looking at an external recorder vs C-Fast cards.

TIA
