Re: Guest messages during loud reception..

I am a fan of the Shure SM58. Good sound, great durability. Use it as a hammer one day and a mic the next. However, the portable recorder options mentioned will work if you are nervous about a guest...

Re: Time Remaining for Video on 6D

Re: Enquiries

I am another believer in having prices posted online. Many people automatically assume no posted price equals too expensive. Oddly enough, sometimes a higher price can actually help with booking...

Re: Upgrade - but what? Solo shooter advice?

Clive, I am in the same boat as you. I am wanting to build my business and an upgrade is in the near future. I love the low light performance of the 6D, so I am also leaning toward the 5D3. I would...

Re: Stills from video? Good or Bad?

Pete, I was not implying the results would be on the same level as a professional. I have been shooting stills longer than video, and I know it takes knowledge and skill to produce good results even...

Re: Stills from video? Good or Bad?

Clive, I frequently agree with you on this forum, and I understand why you said no. However, I do disagree with the "friend to friend" advice. I think the video is much more valuable in the future. ...

Re: Good examples of Event Videpgraphy

I'm sorry. I guess I'm stuck at "why?" Event videography varies greatly with the event being filmed. Are you just wanting to learn by watching how others handle certain events? Is this for...

Re: Good examples of Event Videpgraphy

I don't quite understand. Are you looking for someone else's "good example" of their work? Maybe a bit of explanation here would help.

Re: Stills from video? Good or Bad?

I think this is doable for you as long as you explain that during the ceremony, you are putting video first and the frame grabs are lower res. Take Chris's advice and have a stills camera on a...

Re: Wish I covered this wedding ...

Re: Anyone done a Cambodian Wedding?

I have done 15 hours with a 20 minute "break" in the middle. It is tiring for sure. I had to cut hours out to fit it on a couple DL DVDs. It is hard to imagine recording nonstop as long as she wanted...
