Re: Creating Proxies in Premiere Pro
Thanks Ann, that was helpful :)
It's just occurred to me, as part of my editing process, when I chop up clips on the timeline I like to rename them (not the actual media in the project panel, just...

Re: Am I making the right choice here?
The AVX is great - so simple to set up, I've paired the transmitter/receiver once when I took it out the box, as you'd expect. On the day of a wedding I just mic up the groom when I get to the church...

Am I making the right choice here?
Audio is one of the most important parts of a wedding video. I now have a Sennheiser AVX and a Zoom H1/Rode Lav combo.
Both work well. With this I can mic up two speakers during the speeches, but...

Re: Low cost lav solution
So I used the Zoom H1/Rode lav combo at the weekend and it worked fine, slipped in the speaker's pocket no problem. I'd still like to mic up another person though (so I can mic up three people during...

Re: Creating Proxies in Premiere Pro
I've just used the 1080 YouTube preset.
I'm doing one folder at a time, it seems relatively quick. I've left the file names with the "_1" on the end and created a folder structure elsewhere that...

Re: Creating Proxies in Premiere Pro
So I'm looking at doing this today. I have all my files organised into folders, with their original (unique) file numbers that were generated in camera.
When I import them into ME, it adds a '_1'...

Re: Creating Proxies in Premiere Pro
Thanks for your response.I knew I'd heard something surrounding CC regarding proxies! Hopefully this will be much more helpful in future. A new sequence also makes more sense - just copy and paste...

Re: Places where it is harder to shoot ...
I've already told my girlfriend that young children are banned from our wedding ceremony haha! They are too young to appreciate or understand the importance of the occasion and only cause disruption....

Re: Health/Back Concerns
+1 to that. The Manfrotto video monopod was one of the best things I've ever bought, I feel like a ninja! I actually used it for the speeches on Saturday! I fixed off another camera on a tripod and...

Re: Around ear, closed back headphones
I use the sennheiser HD25, they're great field monitors, but they do get uncomfortable when wearing for longer periods. They make your ears hurt!
I use Sennheiser HD7's for other stuff. Very...

Creating Proxies in Premiere Pro
Hi,
Does anyone have experience in this? My PC is struggling with 4k (i7 3770k, 780ti, 32GB RAM) and can't play it back smoothly. I'd like to create lower-res proxies for the edit and then link...

How long do batteries stay charged for?
This might seem a silly question but as I usually charge things the night before I've never thought to check!
I'm not shooting until Saturday, but as I have five camera batteries and only two...

Re: Low cost lav solution
The Sennheiser AVX is great - you don't have to worry about the transmitter at all, just make sure it's charged (it lasts 11 hours though!). Everything is controlled at the receiver end. Great bit of...

Re: Low cost lav solution
Thanks all. I wish I'd seen the DR-03 sooner, but I've already obtained the Zoom H1 now. I'm very happy with it. Yes there are cons, such as not being able to adjust the levels, but it will do the...

Interestingly, I've just realised the Rode Lav mics have a different connector:

Re: Low cost lav solution
Thanks Rick, I've had a look at the DR-5, it does look good, but I think ever-so-slightly too big to put in a person's breast pocket, so I've just ordered the Zoom H1!

Re: Low cost lav solution
Thanks. Are there any alternatives to the Zoom H1 of a similar price range with any particular pros/cons? Such as Tascam, for instance? I'm not very aware of their product range.
