Re: If I go FF, will f2.8 be fast enough?
The 6D at f2.8 will be similar or better grain wise to whatever crop-sensor camera you are currently using at f1.4. However I highly recommend getting a fast prime ASAP. I keep my 50 f1.4 on my 6D...

Re: Finally upgrading to 6d
I agree. I haven't found the 6D to be any worse than the 5D2 and the low-light is awesome.
I don't think a purchase decision should be made based on MLs raw recording. However I've been able to...

Re: Magi Lantern and RAW workflow doubts
Yeah it might be a while before Magic Lantern is officially out for the 6D...perhaps especially now that everyone is focusing on the RAW recording functionality. In the meantime there are nightly...

Re: 6D Success with Magic Lantern?
I followed the steps in that forum and it works just fine. Quite laborious but it's been fun. Here's a few shots I did at different resolutions:

Re: MPEG Streamclip for time lapses issue
Thanks Kevin, now I know! As stated earlier I do indeed deselect interlaced scaling.
I always fill in the frame rate box with 29.97. I'm guessing it's doubling frames because it defaults...

Re: MPEG Streamclip for time lapses issue
Thanks for the response.
One obvious thing I forgot to mention is that I'm building the time lapses from photos rather than a long take of video.
Typical settings are Pro Res 422 LT, 29.97 fps,...

MPEG Streamclip for time lapses issue
Hey everyone!
I've been using MPEG Streamclip to export my time lapses. It seems that upon exporting it doubles every frame.
My typical settings are Pro Res 422 (LT), 29.97 fps.
It's not...

Re: Picture profile for Canon DSLRs?
That function is actually quite useful. I sometimes have a high contrast profile to get focus and once I hit record it switches to a flat style.

Re: Picture profile for Canon DSLRs?
I've used cinestyle for a long time but sometimes it introduces strange flesh tones when graded. It also requires one hell of an S-curve to shoot at -4 on the contrast setting. You get to keep a lot...

Re: Could you take a photo, please?
I've used tons of shots of people assuming I'm the photographer and posing for my camera. I just keep rolling and sometimes hit the shutter.
A quick exuberant smile is often useful. Especially in...

Re: EOS 6D - What do you think?
The center autofocus point focuses well in the dark (7D rated at EV -0.5 and the 6D rated at EV -3.0, the 5D III at EV -2.5 I believe) and the 6D does just fine at high ISOs , especially compared to...

Re: EOS 6D - What do you think?
I'm loving my 6D so far. As good or better than the 5D III in low light. The aliasing and moire are about as bad as the 5D II though...so if that's a big deal to you (as it is many people for very...

Re: 6D question
Hi Bill,
I'm not super familiar with the 60D but from what I hear everywhere else the 6D has a very similar layout.
My 6D has the pretty little Q button right above the scroll-wheel-D-pad...

Re: Filming Night Music Video - Advice Please
Hi Martin,
I don't think you'll get much of a sharpness increase with the 50 1.2. The 50 1.4 is plenty sharp for DSLR video. I think the real benefit you might get out of this lens is the buttery...

Re: EOS 6D - What do you think?
Patrick,
There has been a video or two showing that aliasing and moire aren't really any better on the 6D as we might have expected. Have you noticed any issues with this yourself?
I've got...

Re: Another Mk3 or the C100?
A bit surprised that the 6D didn't get a vote in this discussion. I imagine the extra $1000 would come in handy at some point.

Re: Frustration with local businesses
I don't think he's saying that it makes the video more artistic. I believe he's saying that he is respecting the fellow artist by purchasing a license to their music and not violating their copyright.
