Re: Another Stupid Idea
It's a pretty neat idea actually. I wouldnt want to edit that much bad footage but still, a good idea.
I see this as doing us no harm whatsoever. Those who can afford a pro and want one will still...

Re: Best wedding Videographer/Photographer website
Its important to get a design which reflects you and your brand. Photographers love black for some reason :)
For us we have a video banner front and centre. It's what we do afterall. No background...

Re: Mic Set-up Suggestions
Boob mic!
Use Rode undercovers to affix the lav to the inside of her dress between the boobs. Even brides with a more modest chest have enough of a cavity to safely keep the mic from rubbing.

Re: A Wedding or a Funfair?
But because the day is such a huge production now it means we can charge more. The value of a guy who turns up to film a ceremony and speech is little. But when they have these lavish affairs it...

Re: My USB packaging.
Those are some nice boxes. Ours are always well received.
For those who print their own custom boxes or cases you really can save time and get a better image by just using a branded Disk and...

Re: Copyright for church service?
Hi Peter. You need an MCPS licence. These cost around £12 and you need one for each event.
When doing what we do we need 2 licences. The first, the MCPS gives you permission to record any...

Re: Parking woes again
Are you shooting on your own?
When we face this in London we normally drop off the gear while the other shooter parks up. Then after they go get the car to load up.
How does the church handle...

Re: Manfrotto Plate Oddness
They look like those little plastic connectors from Lego Technic. You know the ones which you had to use your teeth to remove.

Re: Hard Drive Failure - It does happen
10TB is a lot cheaper now. That setup was speced out a good few years ago now.
The off site backup is also used for live work. We have one at home and one in the office and the instant replication...

Re: Lens cap PITA
Just remove them all at the start of your shoot and leave them in the bag.
I havent kept a cap on during a shoot for 8 years. Dust isnt as much of a problem as you may think.

Re: Hard Drive Failure - It does happen
If you go for RAID 5 you also need backups. RAID 5 will only protect you against a single drive failure, more if you have more redundant disks in the array. But you still need to be ready for entire...

Re: What gives with these lights
Theres no way to WB out the colour but I find if you use a daylight temp of 6000-7000k it stops it being so bright and neon.
Watch strictly come dancing on the BBC and you will see they get the...

Re: What Is It With Vintage Wedding Themes?
It's not vintage. That was so 2013. Its Shabby Chic now :)
The whole jam jar thing is weird. I think it started in America when a few folks, looking to save money decided to use their dads jam jar...

Re: Camera size no longer important?
Couples never (ok, rarely) cared about how big our gear was. The only people who ever thought it was relevant were videographers. If anything they would prefer it to be small.
Remember just a few...

Re: Which budget tripod to buy?
I should also add that with our velbons we use Manfrotto heads as the velbon heads tend to struggle with the 70-200 IS lens. Wont be so bad if we use the lens mount to give it better balance but were...
