Re: fewer high capcity cards vs more low capacity cards

I'd think that risk of losing or damaging a card would be greater if one is in the habit of juggling multiple cards during an event.

A lot of the newer cameras have dual slot recording. Even...

Re: Canon G1X Mark II Announced: 1.5" sensor

It's about the girth, not the diagonal. 18mm +14mm = 1.25 inches. Round up for ego and you get 1.5. There you go.

Steve, I moved this thread to the "Show Your Work" forum to give it a wider audience.

Superbly crafted and powerful.

Re: dodgy emails

To be safe, I've removed these "dodgy" links for now.

There are tricks and spams and malware everywhere on the internet. I don't see the value in replicating suspicious links here at DV Info Net....

Re: Sales tax on tax exempt clients

There's also this gem in Ch 151 of the Texas tax code:

which, if it applies to the situation, saves the trouble of having to worry about the tax status of the buyer. The link is:

Re: C300 hours meter

Phil, cycle thru the info pages using STATUS button on the side of the camera. If I remember, the hour meters are on page 7 of 9, or thereabouts.

Re: 1080 50p on XF300/305?

Anybody who might actually be informed won't be able to say, but VERY unlikely that current XF cameras will get a firmware upgrade that allows 1080p50 or 1080p60. Maybe in the next product cycle.

Re: Canon C300 - framerates firmware update!

I wish the C300 had at least 1080p60 as well. But as Jim points out again, it doesn't and won't. Maybe in the next product cycle...

Re: Gravity

I finally gave in and went to see it this weekend. Got what I expected: Fancy visual effects and 91 minutes of a failure of "suspension of disbelief" with painfully cliché dialog to top it off.

A fine point about XF and Cinema EOS Multi-cam Time Code

Just passing along a little multi-cam tip that applies to the XF cameras, as well as the C300 and C500. This doesn’t apply to the C100 since it doesn’t accept TC in.

THE MYSTERY:

I do a lot of...

Re: Cinematographer ? what's that ?

Fun discussion, and I'll jump in. My 2 cents go to Kren as I feel he pretty much summed it up, with the caveat that I also agree with others who point out that the definitions are soft -- and...

Re: No Encore CC

That's exactly the gripe: Adobe is already not supporting dynamic link between PPro CC and Encore CS6. If they'd just kept Encore feature-neutral with CC, there would be few complaints.
