Re: RX10 & RX100II Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas

Thanks for the kind words John. Though I shoot for minimal editing, the RX10 AVCHD codec holds up surprisingly well in post if needed.

Thanks for watching.

With the Somy RX10 I shoot & edit at 60p, the GH3 30p. In camera RX10 sharpening +2. FCPX eliminates the bit rate guesswork by exporting to device type (computer, Apple device, etc..). I...

Re: RX10: Grand Canyon Winter

You're so right - there is no such thing as bad GC video. I'm at the Canyon 5 or 6 times yearly, but haven't done a river trip. Gotta fix that.

Massive thanks for watching and commenting.

RX10: Grand Canyon Winter

If moire, aliasing & mud are to be issues, the Grand Canyon will provide the cause. The Sony RX10 found none.

This location is often where my cameras become keepers or failures. The RX10 was a big...

RX10: Phoenix Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium

Good location to use the RX10 200mm optical & 400mm Clear Image Zoom. The two are almost indistinguishable.

Some aquarium clips are well above ISO1600, several are ISO3200. Aquarium shot at 24p,...

Re: lumix 12-35 shaky problem

This is very old news Alex. Panasonic resolved this issue with a firmware update early this year. The Lumix 12-35 is a great lens.

Re: Micro third lens/fd lens

The Lumix 12-35 f2.8 is actually a fine lens, and the fastest zoom you'll get with OIS from Panasonic. The "tripod fault" was overblown, and fixed months ago with firmware.

Personally, it is my...

Re: Moire question for those shooting a lot with GH3 in "event" work

You've discovered the details of the GH3 moire issue Ron. Shooting 72Mbps All-I close-ups is usually successful, but wide detailed shots are full of moire. 50Mbps IPB 1080/30p produces stunning....

Re: Moire question for those shooting a lot with GH3 in "event" work

Avoid shooting the GH3 in All-I 72Mbps and moire will be extremely rare. I've yet to see it with 50Mbps IPB.

Good shooting.
