Re: same day edit

Hi Bart. This has been discussed in the forums many times. You should be able to do a quick search and find lots of useful tips for SDE workflow.

But to quickly answer your question, most of us...

Re: Why So Grainy?

I would usually use the portrait setting in my camera. Then adjust the White Balance to suit. Kelvin 7000 is way too high. If you're new, make good use of the AWB. If the AWB gives you some strange...

Re: 2 Cams Better Than 3?

Once your husband is using a 60D, its no longer point and shoot.. but more of a point, shoot and focus! And to maximize the use he may need to get familiar with ISO and aperture setting as well. But...

Re: B Cam suggestions for the 5D II?

If I were you I'd get a 5D or 550D in a heartbeat. Maybe more to 550D as the 1.6x crop factor will give you benefit of extra reach especially in a big church. And the magic lantern will be useful if...

Re: Ken & Okky - second attempt at prewed love story and wedding video

Hi Lisa. Thank you so much for the encouraging words! This video was done in May 2009 with such limited experience & tools. There's been a lot of hardwork and investment made since then and I'm very...

Re: Wedding nightmare

Much like the guy on Nigel's link, I've also came across well known photographers who do not use flash until it becomes necessary. And they actually turned down the beeping noise from the autofocus....

Re: Wedding nightmare

Maybe that's why these photographers get paid really well. Because they dont care about other vendors as long as they get what they need. And because they get paid real well, some thought they have...

Re: Wedding nightmare

It may be worthwhile educating the bride & groom on how to manage your vendors. If the client had insisted from the start for the vendors to avoid as much as possible blocking guest view or standing...

Re: Same Day Edit Video Lagging

Thanks Joel. I might give it a try, I have another SDE coming up end of this month, hope it works. And here's hoping for FCP8 with native h.264 editing!

Re: Wedding nightmare

That's a real entertaining video! I cringe at photographers who use wide angle lens during ceremony >__<

I've seen a wedding in Indonesia where the photographers (3-4 of them) are just surrounding...

Re: Same Day Edit Video Lagging

Thanks gents.

Admittedly I usually delete my converted movie files, but I didn't that time.. maybe the 12GB wasn't enough.

I was about to try using the display preview in FCP to show on the...

Re: Printers for wedding DVD

Unfortunately Artison 50 and many other recommended printers here are out of production. Epson R800 is a bit over my budget at the moment. :(

Canon IP4850 seems widely available though, would any...

Re: Why not give all raw footage?

My understanding (and I'd agree with it) is that RAW footage does not exactly represents the quality of work you would produce. In your raw footages, things may not look as good (no colour...

Re: Zoom H1

ditto. auto level is lousy. I always stick with the lowest possible to avoid overexposed audio. You can always boost up a low volume audio, but you can't do nothing with overexposed audio.

Re: OK, one more lens? Need Help.

On budget, I'd get a 17-50mm Tammy since it covers more range from wide to portrait. Then 50mm f1.8 for creative dof shots.

Re: Wedding highlight with a gay skit..

This is also the first...
