Re: Shooting Only - Clients Edit

Most of my work comes from word of mouth from my brides. If they are editing it, they aren't going to be pushing my services. When they post their video on Facebook, I want my name on it and that...

Re: Remove a photorgrapher from a shot in post!

Re: Audio Set Up For Wedding - thoughts?

Can you spend a few more bucks and get an omni directional microphone to plug into the Zoom and put it in the grooms pocket and clip the mic on his lapel?

Re: Event Cinema Workshop - October 2011, Chicago & Boston

Joe, October 7th is on a Friday. I'd love to attend the workshop but I have a wedding that day. October is one of the busiest months in the NorthEast.

Re: Too many videographers?

I'm not sure if the bride/groom always know how many photographers/videographers are going to be present. If the b/g knew there would be 7 or 8, I don't think she would sign that contract. I just...

Re: Too many videographers?

You could substitute the word "videographer" and insert "photographer" thoughout this post and it would totally reflect what I see every weekend as a videographer.

Re: DJ allows Toasts while photo/video team are having dinner..

These DJs were not young kids, probably in their late 40s so they should have experience to know to make sure the photo/video team are in the room. They told me it was a spur of the moment speech...

DJ allows Toasts while photo/video team are having dinner..

Yesterday's DJ had the Bride's little sister say a toast while I was having dinner in another room with the photographers. The toasts were totally unexpected as even the bride was unaware that her...

I started in '92 and the camera's didn't even hold the tape. I had to carry a seperate record deck.

Re: Churches charging for filming.

I had a wedding here in New Jersey just this past weekend where the church will not allow videographers inside. They have their own camera setup and charge the bride $85 for a copy of the DVD.

Re: the knot

I would never advertise on The Knot. In my experience, Knot brides are usually looking for cheap video.

Re: Bride complaints..

This post is not about DSLR shooters as brides have complained to me about other videographers standing 2 feet away for the past 19 years. My point is, the video guy standing 2 feet away is hurting...

Re: Shutter Speed ?

Buba, when you use the 135 or 70-200 for speeches, doesn't the photographer usually stand in front and block your shot? I have those lenses but never get to use them during the speeches for this...

Re: Bride complaints..

hey Everyone. My point wasn't to include the photographers in this thread because brides will always hire a photographer. Many brides don't hire a videographer at all because they've been to...

Re: LED Light Flickers on DSLR Cameras...

Jawad, I agree with David. We can only do so much with a limited budget. For $3k-$5,000 the brides are really getting some great results for that price range compared to a Hollywood film that cots...

Re: Shutter Speed ?

David, I would love to be able to use my 135 for speeches, but the photographer will never look over his shoulder to see that I'm so far back and he'll block my shot. How do you get around this?

Re: Unusual setup for Speeches
