Re: Which budget tripod to buy?
Velbon DV7000
£99, lighter than a manfrotto. Has no low level spreader so good for weddings and churches and has a crankable thingy to get up high over peoples heads.
Its all we use.

Re: Cloud backup for Video?
Another thing about cloud backups are the restore times are slow.
We use iDrive for things like personal photos, music etc and downloading can be as slow, if not slower than uploading.

Re: Outsourcing Edits
Start by outsourcing the rough cut bits. For us we carve up the footage and catagorise everything, then putting the edit together is just like a big jigsaw puzzle. Outsource the syncing up of cameras...

We have a little blog article about our...

Re: Will you take this gig?
With this sort of gig there is also the chance that the tog could be a diva and deliberately try and prove a point about how video is the worst thing in the world.
We had a job once that we took....

Re: Canon C100 and WDR Profile
We use the WDR profile and leave sharpness as is. We apply a +3 noise reduction just to cover us in most situations upto around 8000 iso. Over that we have another picture profile with higher NR.

Re: Will you take this gig?
The problem with this sort of "We dont actually care about the video" ones is that when they get the film and its a crock of poop because of the limits you had you can bet your bottom dollar that...

Re: Two body 7D or one body 6D
How many do you have now?
If you have a 5DMK2 as your post suggests then the 7D is a perfect match (mk1 or mk2 though?). Almost identical footage.
The 6D is a great camera and amazing in low...
