well to be fair, lux ratings are mostly fudged anyway so maybe they can't drop the shutter speed enough to make this lux rating better?

Yeah, $100K+ is just a tiny bit out of my budget. Tested out 60i to 60p to 24p in post and it wasn't terrible so it looks like that's the direction I'll go.
