I'm not here to defend how Adobe set up Cloud subscriptions (my MS Office Plus online allows up to FIVE copies...costs them nothing in sales since I wouldn't be willing to buy a second subscription...

I don't have all apps installed on my laptop, which is what I'm using right now, but each app that I do have does contain a "Legal" folder with subfolders for multiple languages, but...

Your NLE may be able to open the files without the folder structure. Prelude and Premiere both will open individual Canon MXF files as-is. I don't know which other NLEs do or don't.

I'm not a fan of Apple so wouldn't have noticed, but per the specs page that's true. It is 64 bit software and requires OS X 10.7 or higher:
