Couldn't you find another one of those cables and make it to size? You can either attach new plugs or just remove a piece of the middle and resolder and reattach the wires..

When SDI I'd use a decimator, when using CVBS you can use any colour security cam quad split. They're not great quality though so judging colour or focus is not doable..

I've had some trouble getting a HDMI converter (to CVBS in my case, for remote monitoring) to work.. I suspect it is HDCP based so I imagine a converter to HD-SDI would be tricky as well.

So my problem was also flexing. I want to replace the floorplate with a steel one, and have the rods extend backwards to transfer the force better. Ideally I would want to replace the 550D with a GH2...
