Re: Smart Phones & Weddings

I don’t shoot weddings for a living, I’m a corporate guy. But I have done enough of them. I do weddings for friends and family, and occasionally for a paid gig. So I have been there, done what you...

Re: Audio Speaker

Really? No offence Randy. Do you have something against headphones? You may be able to hear audio through that but what about hearing the quality of the audio?

Re: 16 gauge melts with 20A

The same guy that ran that stinger is probably the same guy that would drop a coil of XLR on top of it. Then wonder why his audio sounds bad. Orange AC cables are for weed whackers and coffee...

Re: Canon 24-105 f4 vs Tamron 24-70 f2.8

My input on lenses is simple, but serious, I have a lot of trial and error in this a long time ago. Bottom line, buy the best glass you can possibly afford. That means sticking to Canon, Nikon, and...

Re: Just how ill how ill have you been......

I reached the bail out point. Ten years ago I was in a town of 600 people at 7000 feet in the Rocky Mountains. I was there to shoot an Executive Adventure Learning Experience. I woke up the...

Re: RainbowImaging Canon lens to Sony E Mount adapter

I would expect the AF of the SELP18105G to be at leat as goog and probably better than the 18-200mm.

I see the 18-200mm on e-bay all the time for about 800 / 900 bucks.

Re: RainbowImaging Canon lens to Sony E Mount adapter

You can get a Metabones Mark III adapter to restore lens functionality for $400.00. You shoot on a fixed stage so you probably don't need the $600.00 speed booster? What aperture are you normally...

Re: RainbowImaging Canon lens to Sony E Mount adapter

That is correct Joel,

At 300mm you are loosing light because of the lens design. The aperture blades are still in the same place at F4 at full wide.

If you look at a constant aperture zoom at...

Re: EF Focal Reducer from R.J.Camera

Peter,

Metabones is not a third party replicator for the budget market. You are very happy with their speed booster. For a second adapter go for the Mark II (maybe Mark III now). It is $200.00...

Great Demo Reel Chuck! Loved the kayak in the picture frame the girl was carrying. Nice touch.

Re: Cheap EA50

+1 on what Don said.

Jody, if your going to order from the US B&H has the lowest "reputable price". I bought mine there shortly after the release date and they are already $500.00 less. I have...

Re: EA50 repaired / Metabones works great

Steve B, My Metabones is the Mark II Sony E-mount to Canon EF.

The Sony paperwork just says "repaired power issue". I know there were parts involved because they were back ordered for a few...

Re: weird electrical issues

David,

After checking to be sure face detection is off if it still does not work hit the reset button. You will loose the settings you have programmed but it fixed my "bug".

BTY, I took face...

Re: weird electrical issues

David,

Forgive me for checking the basics but please confirm this.

When in Manual mode if you push the shutter button you should see a white box around shutter speed

At that time you are...

Re: weird electrical issues

I use all buttons and controls. The problem I had was the time code quit working in the LCD viewfinder, it was recorded, the day after I upgraded to V2, the new firmware. The reset button fixed it....

Hi Jody,

I would not give that site my Credit card information in a thousand years. Looks like a typical scam site to me. I don't think it is even grey market. I bet it is just collecting CC...

+1 Don. A $5,000.00 camera becomes nothing more than a prop without power.

Hey Jon,

Don Bloom and I both "veterans" in the business. My VL312 on camera LED does not have a silver backing, it is white. I posted a link to it already in this thread.

Like Don, I use...

Re: EA50 repaired / Metabones works great

Thanks Chris. I am relieved. Yes, there is nothing "cheap" about the Metabones quality. It is finely machined.

Re: EA50 repaired / Metabones works great

Hey Joe,

It is not all EA50s. A lot of other people have reported success using the Metabones with EA50. In my old post my big complaint in the beginning was that I did not get a response from...

Good news guys. My NEX EA50 is repaired and I can finally use my arsenal of Canon “L” series lenses thanks to Metabones. In fact, I owe it to Metabones for proving to me my camera was defective and...

Re: Battery run time

I totally agree Chris,

I have had the knock offs, but in the camera there is nothing like the security of the real thing.

Re: Battery run time

Randy,

Make sure you turn off all unnecessary features like gps and stabilization if you don't need them.
