After checking to be sure face detection is off if it still does not work hit the reset button. You will loose the settings you have programmed but it fixed my "bug".

I use all buttons and controls. The problem I had was the time code quit working in the LCD viewfinder, it was recorded, the day after I upgraded to V2, the new firmware. The reset button fixed it....
