I believe the factory default is face detection. That may be what your seeing. Spot focus works in either mode. Select Spot focus in the menu. Make sure the focus selection switch is in Manual.

The EA50 is designed to be an event camera. Weddings, corporate events, and run and gun are its strength. It is not a cinema cam. Focus Transition is on the bottom of my list of features...
