In short, they...

That's true. And at least, for us wedding shooters, we won't have to get confused with which standard to burn the discs. Now, if they can only finalize or come out with the software for mastering...

Interesting news. I guess they still didn't know the WB decision would tilt things in favor of BD. I wonder if they will still release this, or they have an option on a BD only...

This news is expected, but still much welcome. At least it will put pressure on software makers to start scaling up their apps to be able to use multicores.

Vegas and the AVCHD
Ok. I'm asking another question.
There's a bunch of new cameras now coming out and many of the nice ones no longer use tape. The storage is either in the HDD or in CF/SD/MS or whatever. I believe...

Thanks Chris!
Specs looks solid. I presume these are 1/3" cmos sensors. In any case, it would be interesting if there are any improvements in low light capability with these cameras. Or how they...

Does Vegas support the EX1?
Does Sony Vegas support editing the files from the upcoming EX1 camera?
If not, are there workarounds like conversions or the use of cineform or something of the kind?
Thanks!

Robert,
If Canon ever releases a replacement for the A1, I doubt if it will be in the same class. The XDCAM EX is 1/2" sized sensor. That would mean we are not talking anymore of the same price...

A viable option
I agree with Adam. Though an FX1 or some other camera would be better, this is a viable option. Better than using the hc3 or hc7, though they are good 2nd cams or B cams themselves for the price.
