Re: Canon XF300 with extras

Hi Steve!
I love the 300 and it's served my business needs quite well. Lectures, theater, events, and greenscreen were its main uses. I also regularly flew it on a glidecam rig and last Friday...

Re: Advice on shooting from a helicopter

The gyros rent for about $300 per week :) And suspending from bungees (mounted on proper points of the heli) they work incredibly well. I've shot on a Cineflex rig in an A-Star and that's like 10...

Re: Advice on shooting from a helicopter

Highly recommend the KenLabs 4x4. Not that expensive to rent for a week and has been proven to work from most heli's. The guys at KenLabs can recommend mounting options and were very helpful when I...

Re: Should I sell my XF305 for a 5D Mark III?

The XF is way nicer on chroma. That's about 80% of my biz and the reason I bought it. The 5D mk3 does ok for smaller web videos but you will see aliasing in full hd. The 5D mk3 is miles ahead of the...

Re: Small camera for unattended locked-off wide shot.

I will second the XF100/105 choice. I rent one anytime I need that exact shot. It matches my XF300 perfectly. I have also used it for b-roll on a nationally airing TV series. Highly recommended!

Re: Should I sell my XF305 for a 5D Mark III?

Totally depends on what you shoot. I will always have a true camcorder as I do corporate and longer pieces. I use the 5D mk3 (and 1Dx) for b-roll. I have a friend who does mostly cinema style...

Re: Moire and aliasing issues on Canon 6D

I shot with a 7D for years and edited 5D mk2 footage alongside it. I had seen a little aliasing here and there but no big deal, I used a different camera when it mattered. Then it happened...
I was...

Re: Microcopter CRASH

Crash was pure pilot error. Watch and you'll see it spinning as it gets higher and higher. There's no indication which is the front or back of the copter and once you lose orientation...game over!...

Re: Hi guys, looking for a Wide lens for 5d mark iii

There's Zeiss...
18mm or the king of wide...new 15mm f2.8 but it's almost as much as your 5D mk3!

I also use the 16-35 f2.8 which gives a bit of fisheye at 16 and is great through 35.

Re: Do I really need the Beachtek pro??

Buy it and never look back. And know you...
