Re: Suggestions for cheaper alternative to Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8?

I decided to end up going with Nikon Mount SIGMA APO 70-200mm F2.8 F/2.8 D HSM. They have manual aperture's. I figure for 600 bucks its pretty hard to beat. Lots of focal length so I can be pretty...

Canon EF 100 mm F/2.0 - manual aperture?

Hello all, I'm considering getting a Canon EF 100 mm F/2.0 for my GH2. I don't mind manual focus, but I'm looking at the lens itself and I'm not seeing how you manually set aperture. Is it only...

Re: Suggestions for cheaper alternative to Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8?

Looks like I'm going to actually go with Sigma's 70-200 2.8. The way I see it is, yeah its more telephoto, but I always have more options to back up further away in a church than I do getting closer....

Suggestions for cheaper alternative to Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8?

Doesn't have to be native mount to m4/3 as long as it can be adapted. Completely manual is fine. No higher than 2.8. Anything out there, vintage or something that I'm unaware of? Also my god how...

Re: Excited about 70D?

One of the biggest missing feature of shooting video with a DSLR is autofocus. There are times when you can't be behind the camera and you need it to run without you.
Video quality is high enough...

Re: Panasonic, PLEASE give us a faster wide!! 7mm @ 4.0 isn't going to cut it!!!

I'm very curious about the SLR magic but I keep hearing things about it getting fuzzy towards the outside of the frame when its wide open, so that makes me nervous. Yeah its frustrating, the cost of...

Same day edit projector suggestions?

So I'm thinking of starting up SDE's and outside of the laptop, I'm assuming most people show these on a projector. Anyone have any positive experiences with specific projectors? I may just go with...

Re: Panasonic, PLEASE give us a faster wide!! 7mm @ 4.0 isn't going to cut it!!!

Haha well put everyone. Well I think the 10mm and 7mm's are mostly fish eye lenses are they not?

Like I said, this is mostly a non issue when you have a lot of light, but m4/3 needs some kinda...

Re: Panasonic, PLEASE give us a faster wide!! 7mm @ 4.0 isn't going to cut it!!!

I can't really justify the .5 of a stop for 800$ when the 14mm and the wide angle converter together is around 270$ and it gets me wider than the 12.

Panasonic, PLEASE give us a faster wide!! 7mm @ 4.0 isn't going to cut it!!!

I have to say, when I first moved to the GH2, I was in love with the low price and great video quality. Boy it really nails a lot of great things. But I have to say, I never thought I would find the...

Re: GH3 Owners.. how is the auto focus? Workable yet?

Thats kind of what I'm considering actually! What I want to do is have someone on a monopod getting that shot (or an unmanned tripod, problem is if its unmanned I'm worried about photog getting in...

Re: GH3 Owners.. how is the auto focus? Workable yet?

Well, I've decided that I'm going to attempt to shoot that shot wide enough and positioned enough to *possibly* be at hyperfocal distance and then boom they are all in focus. so we'll see how that...

Recommendations for heavy duty used legs for center mount slider?

So I've built myself a motorized slider, and it works great. But I'm tired of lugging around ladders and other unsightly equipment to mount it. Its 36 inches, weighs probably about 25 lbs. I have a...

Re: GH3 Owners.. how is the auto focus? Workable yet?

Yeah 2.8 would be nice, I just try and stay as open as possible to keep my iso down and the video as clean as possible. Some churches I shoot in are reaaaally dark, and not to mention receptions with...

Re: Camera roll call - what do you shoot with, how do you feel it performs?

Wow, four of them? Do you run all of those alone or do you have help? I'd imagine four would drive me a little bonkers!

Re: Camera roll call - what do you shoot with, how do you feel it performs?

Well, maybe like some have said, what I should be looking at is larger chips for their higher sensitivity which would allow me to stop down more to make racking focus easier. I find it really...

GH3 Owners.. how is the auto focus? Workable yet?

So my holy grail would be to not have to manually rack focus when I'm open at 1.4 on a bride as she walks down a 30 ft aisle towards me at the altar. Any chance the GH3 can keep her in focus?

Camera roll call - what do you shoot with, how do you feel it performs?
