Re: C100: In-Camera Sharpening?

I haven't done any comparisons yet but I did do a shoot at +6 sharpness (given that the C100 has a +50 range I guess +6 isn't over doing it). I agree that post sharpening is the best option but given...

Re: Can anyone recommend a good slider?

I have the Konova K5 & love the thing. I get super smooth one take slides. If you have the money the Kessler Stealth is great but personally I'd buy the K5 over & over. Konova is a bit of a dust...

Re: Wireless headset for 2 cam operators?

I use HYT entry level licensed professional radios & love them, they work great, covers most venues & hotels at extreme ranges. Don't buy those cheap crap radios you get off the shelf get licensed...

Re: Calling all UK C100 users! A few PAL/NTSC questions.

There is no benefit to filming NTSC in a PAL country, you will run into problems because of the power grid. PAL is 25P because PAL countries AC power is 50Hz. If you film 24P in PAL country you get...

Re: C100: In-Camera Sharpening?

Here is a comparison between a post sharpened image. Filmed on the Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS possibly at F2.8 or F4 can't remember the exact F-Stop but I tend to go F4 to F5.6 on speeches. There is a big...

C100: In-Camera Sharpening?

I film on the Wide DR profile, overall I'm happy with the look but the images appear somewhat soft at times, I then apply post sharpening. Would you consider pushing the Wide DR in-camera sharpening...

Re: Do you use lights?

Peter the 24-105 is a F4 lens. I only recently started playing with F1.4 primes, I always thought that F2.8 was fast but once you see what a F1.4 can do it's crazy. Focus isn't such a big deal as I...

Re: Do you use lights?

Adrian when asked if I use lights I tell the couple that yes I do depending on the situation we're in. I then go on to explain that lights adds life, color & dimension to images but in the same...

Re: Do you use lights?

After I got my C100's I literally stopped using lights overnight. I only use two small 312 LED for fill light now & even then I only set it to 30-50% brightness. It's a big adjustment since I've...

Re: Just bought a C300, got any tips/suggestions?

I have both the 17-55 & 24-105. The 24-105 is almost an all in one lens & 105MM gives amazing reach, a must have lens. Sometimes I need a wider lens as 24 is tight this is where the 17-55 comes in,...

Re: import Canon C300 files from hard drive?

Thanks. True you're begging Vegas to crash with that much footage. Mind you I easily load 250Gb of footage onto a timeline. I then sort it from there & split (Save As) the project into smaller...

Re: import Canon C300 files from hard drive?

My EX1 did the same thing, different folders for every clip. All you do is search *.mxf in the search bar in Explorer once you're in the folder containing all the different folders. This will bring...

Re: import Canon C300 files from hard drive?

Usually you just drag & drop the files onto your timeline? Doesn't get more complicated than that. You can also go File > Import > Media & select the footage. No special instructions necessary.

Re: Is Horizontal Noise On The LCD Normal?

Look at the footage on a PC/MAC/Monitor/TV, the camera LCD is not an accurate representation of the footage. Let us know if you still see these lines when you do.

Re: organization?

Táve 3.0 also does all of the above mentioned by Paul. Problem with ShootQ is it only supports a few countries, if you live anywhere else in the world you're out of luck.

Re: 60D vs C100 Pictures

The C100 is not an expensive camera, I paid a lot more for my Sony EX1 back in the day. Frankly I just got fedup with crappy DSLR video quality & horrible workarounds to achive basic video functions....
