good guess
That was rough estimation after the 7% drop due to number confusion. But isn't it amazing how that starts to be a substantial drop in storage. I mean, that is almost an entire project's worth of...

The Black List
That is a good question. I would imagine all they could do is raise a stink at the next wedding, but since the contract for the venue is between the B/G & church, then there would have to be a...

I knew those CS sources would eventually come in handy. :-)
But seriously, this becomes a headache the larger storage systems get. Users need to look at a storage device and then automatically...

File sizes
This is because operating systems calculate file sizes based on a binary system (powers of 2) where as storage manufacturers (hard drives, DVDs, etc) base their sizes on a power of 10 system.
So...

Moshing it up
I love receptions, and I love the .3 semi-fish eye I just got. I used it a lot for the reception on my most recent wedding because it made the crowd that much closer and more involved. I didn't...

Check out this clip to see some of the "before vs after" footage from that shoot. (http://www.idahodigitalproductions.com/services/content/view/35/45/)

Interesting
Is that likely to come with a Vegas update package as well? What about a Soundforge update. I've been thinking of getting Sound Forge for the Noise reduction plugin so I can use it in Vegas. and if...

flahs drives
Some flash drives had horribly slow transfer speeds which may impact your ability to use them to store footage for editing. They are cheap, but (in my opinion) nothing near the price / storage ratio...

unlimited tracks & video scopes for the win
My last project had around 38 tracks (video & audio) because some media files needed specific track level real-time effects (I only have 4 video tracks, the rest were audio). If one track needed...

system wipe
I do a complete system wipe about twice a year. Helps a ton. Also, if you just stick the the vanilla plain XP pro and don't do any OS updates / service packs, then it is pretty zippy.

As always..... it depends
Are you going to be layering on the filters/CC/real time audio effects etc, doing lots of MB work, workign on native Mt2 HD files instead of cineform proxies? If so, then go with Q6600 (quad core)...

I used to use nested projects, but for the exact same reasons listed above (the vid0 render) I went back to using 1 project file. Granted, my most recent project (a two camera wedding movie) had 38...

Glad to see a comment about the B&W. I put in the slow-mo with B&W to lead up to the fade from B&W to full color on the reveal of the ceremony location. It looked a bit more awkward with just a...

About the only benefit I could see is to use the lease as a "try before you buy" method. Lease for a month or so and see if you like the new hardware / workflow, etc. Then buy it on your own. I...
