Re: Two lenses
I stand by by the point I was making - You should not have a discussion on lens choices without talking about what films you are making and the target audience (web-theater-broadcast) - this has to...

Re: Two lenses
My point is that no matter what tests can be set up and res cards and color charts produced to show anomalies, the real test should and must be with the audience. They are the ones who buy my films....

Re: Next Investment
I think its all about improving your shots.
So buy a EVF - Zacuto or Redrock, when they are available. DSLR's are so hobbled, especially the 7D in using the LCD that any shoulder rig is a...

I shoot docs and primes are almost impossible to deal with unless I set up the shot beforehand which basically means its B-roll footage.
As far as Zooms, I have not suffered from any noticeable...

Re: Two lenses
It makes sense only if you are planning to move beyond DSLR's ... but considering you are only just buying a 7D this is not the case.
To me the images coming out of the 7D will not be improved...

I do interviews with an assistant but use a Sennheiser G3 lav set up for 0ver 50% of them - the...

Wanting all this gear must mean you already have the essentials below:
Good quality fast lenses. A good set of primes or for doc work zooms - aim...

Re: Tascam DR100 and outputting to camera? Help
Go to Audio forum - there are posts on this actual topic. You need a special cable but its far from ideal.
It's not a good thing to do anyway and why would you?
I record into the Tascam while...

Re: A few negatives about the Tascam DR100

I have only one worry - it works only in high gain. I actually thought my...

Re: Setting up a Sennehiser G3...
That is the argument I make - that when I used G2's, scanning frequently ended up not being worthwhile and I resorted to resetting quite often.
I see there a lot of presets on the G3 so I think I...

Is scanning for every shoot best practice? The manual is useless on this. On my old...

The folders contain parsers so that your editing program can see the correct files - ie, video.
You should not extract the video files out of the folder but instead copy the complete folder to...

Re: Attaching mattebox to GH2 with pancake lens
This depends on the camera I take. My last film was shot around the Himalayas with a large kit based on EX-3s ... not easy. The movie was just released.
I leave in 10 days for Beijing and will be...
