Do you think 25p is the best frame rate to use for weddings? I prefer 50i to get the live feel rather than the progressive scan "film look".

Im now able to answer my own question after...

Im now able to answer my own question after buying a 'cheap' 40g PS3.

Ulead BDMV (with menus & chapters) discs DO play on the PS3, but Ulead BDAV (no menus or chapters) wont play on the PS3.

Golden rules?

Here's the main 3 for me..

1. Attend rehearsal.

2. Use unmanned cameras too, useful for both video AND audio.

3. Play it safe when editing regards fx, transitions, graphics & titles etc....

At last the Ulead HD power pack for Movie Factory 6+ allows authoring of Blu-ray discs in BDMV.

Umm, but the test discs I've burnt won't play in WinDVD BD for Vaio! (Even with the latest update)....

Thanks for the info Danny but surely Vegas should work properly with .m2t files on ANY good PC, I've got a Mesh quad core PC with 4gb ram. If it's not a bug in Vegas it's a design fault with Vegas.

I spoke too soon, saw several black frame instances when editing yesterday, haven't rendered yet though to see if they're still there then.

Looks like I'm going back to NEO HDV with it's 6fps...

Edited some footage from a 4 camera wedding shoot yesterday and haven't seen any black frames yet! I really don't want to go back to using Neo HDV cos the preview runs too slowly.

Fingers crossed Pro 8 cures black frame bug

I'm keeping my fingers AND toes crossed that Vegas 8 doesn't have the black frame bug on .m2t files, although DSE is convinced the problem is hardware based so maybe it wont cure it...

I'm using Neo HDV for intermediate files in Vegas 7d, mainly to overcome the black frame bug when editing .m2t files.

I'm viewing 4 camera tracks at the same time in the preview window...

I didn't mean optical is always better than electronic only that the Canon HV20 stabilizer is better than Sony HC3s, but I've never tried SKY DIVING with them! :)

I've got both the Sony HC3 & Canon HV20. The Sony has electronic stabilization and the Canon has optical stablization and is much better. The Canon's got a mic input too.

I'm going to have to give up trying to edit HDV .m2t files in vegas 7d cos of the 2 black frame bug. I'll have to edit using cineform .avi intermediates and only do the final render to .m2t. I assume...
