Re: Wow is all I can say.

Hi Jeff
On the top left of the camera is a dial that says MF, AFC, and AFS. Just rotate the dial to AFS (auto focus single).
I am not sure about face recognition, I haven't used it but I hear it...

Re: Wow is all I can say.

You were mentioning that the auto focus changes too much. Are you using continuous auto focus or single auto focus?
Single only changes when you change it. I found the AFC pretty useless unless...

Re: Manual is not fully Manual

I was just trying to get a blur effect on night traffic like you can get with a still camera set at 1/2 or 1 second. Guess you can't do it in the video mode. No matter what shutter speed you set it...

Re: Manual is not fully Manual

It's not about exposure, it's about the shutter speed. You shouldn't be able to have a shutter speed of 1 sec. And hit playback and have smooth video. I have the ISO locked at 400 but it's really...

Manual is not fully Manual

I wanted to try and get a special effect of blurring while in the Manual mode. If you take your camera and put it in the Manual mode and after setting your f-stop, change the shutter speed to 1...

Re: 24p RENDER PROBLEM

What NLE software are you using? Are you able to create a 25p timeline before you drag the video into it?

Re: GH1, how does it differ from GH2?

Phillip Bloom seems to agree with you on the low light issues with the GH1

"GH2 better than hacked GH1…yep for me it is, as the hacked GH1 no matter how high the bit rate goes it still SUCKS in...

Re: suggestion for 100mm vintage prime

No it can not be deactivated will filming I do not believe.
Guess you already looked at the Voigtlander 25mm f0.95?
Expensive yikes.
Bloom seems to love it but it seems to be a difficult lens to...

Re: suggestion for 100mm vintage prime

Same dimensions/aspect, if just as if you were zoomed in but without changing/losing your f-stop of 1.7.
No lose of quality...read somewhere that it may even be sharper since you are using the...

Re: GH2 "I.Dynamic" Working?

I don't know. I have it on, on my EX3 version of it to bring out detail in high contrast video. Not sure how you would check it on the GH2. I am just hoping it works. I see an example on the Pany...

Re: GH2 footage doesn't look as good as my old camera, why?

Got ya. You were using the 35mm equation . That's true of all the lenses we have been talking about (unless you are using a full frame camera).... I was sorta talking about lenses in general in...

Re: suggestion for 100mm vintage prime

Jeff
To get a f1.7 50 mm lens I use my Lumix 20mm in the ETC mode without light loss. The ETC gives x2.6 of the lens. I find the image to be very sharp.
The 35mm equivalent of 90 to 100mm.

Re: GH2 footage doesn't look as good as my old camera, why?

Your Lumix 20mm f1.7 is a micro 4/3 lens? Or 4/3 lens?
Just curious...I have the micro 4/3 lens and the 20mm is 20mm on my GH2.

Re: GH2 progressive or interlaced?

That would be nice. I wish it could shoot slo mo at 50 instead of 80. But I own an EX3 too, and the GH2 is not in the same class as the EX3, but the PQ is still surprising good. However my EX3 has...

Re: Auto ISO?

Jon I think I know what you are talking about and it seems to happen when setting focus. I think the camera is opening up the exposure to see and set focus.
You may be happier just using the...

Re: Where or how in the world do you get one?? (GH2)

Nigel can you explain further how the GH2 is superior to the Canon 5D Mark11 in video quality?
That would be most interesting if that is so. I still think the 5D mk11 is the video standard by which...

Re: Lens adapter for Canon EF 85mm 1.8

I misspoke...the adaptor I have for my Nikon lens will only allow me to change the shutter speed and ISO but not the f-stop on the GH2
