Re: EX1r and EX3 No Longer Include a SxS Card

Re: EX1r and EX3 No Longer Include a SxS Card

That is what you might call a "soft" price increase.

You pay the same but get less. The only difference between Sony and Bryers is they couldn't reduce the camera to 48 ounces instead of a full...

Re: Plus and minus values in PP settings EX1r

And if you choose a low knee point try to keep skin tone highlights out of that range if possible.

Highlight compression on skintones really stands out.

Re: 36 Mbps JVC PX10 $899

Bummer on the low rez output for the slow-mo. Thats not going to be good enough. 720p would work but VGA rez wont.

Re: 36 Mbps JVC PX10 $899

From the product website:

1/2.3-inch 12.75M Back-illuminated CMOS

Re: 36 Mbps JVC PX10 $899

I'll be most interested in seeing how the slow-mo footage looks.

300fps is plenty fast to do some really nice work for action scenes.

Re: Reindeer Cam

You absolutely need to give Angel a voice. That would be funny.

Enjoyed watching the video.

Re: HD Video Switcher question

You need to look for a switch with frame buffering or vertical interval switching to have any chance of making switches without glitches. Since that one doesn't mention either and the price is WAY...

Re: Travelling from Canada to US with Gear

What about shipping the gear instead of carrying it with you?

I do this all the time with stuff that makes camera gear look cheap by comparison.

The stuff arrives the day before I get there...

Re: HD Delivery Question

I use a H.264 codec in a MOV wrapper. That seems to be one of the most compatible combinations these days.

Re: Kessler K-Pod good for travel/event videography?

Re: DNxHD no recompress?

The short answer is - NO.

DNxHD is a codec and not a container. DNxHD works in a MXF or MOV container.

Anything converted from a another codec to DNxHD would have to be recompressed.
