Has anyone else seen the feature that Still Motion put up on their blog? (This One’s Different Because It’s Us – stillmotion (http://stillmotionblog.com/2013/04/15/miffy-mr-bee/))

Wedding Packages

I met with a bride/groom yesterday about a wedding video and they began asking me about taking things out of packages to reduce the price, etc. I'm happy to customize any package, but I began...

Re: Black Magic Pocket Camera

I'm sure you can say the same thing about any camera. I've also seen great footage from the BMCC.

I think this could be a great tool to use during a wedding. Even if it's just for the prores. ...

Re: Who's using primes for the ceremony?

The GH2/3 has the 12-35 and 35-70 (which is equivalent to the Canon 24-70 and 70-200 because of the crop factor). They aren't necessarily cheap, but with a constant aperture of 2.8 they are great...

Re: Wedding Cost up for 2012

Good insight and you're right this won't change how I change, but for me it's still interesting to read.

Re: Final Delivery - 2-part question

I stole this idea from someone else, so I apologize that I don't remember who it was and can't give proper credit, but I send it in a standard packing box. When they open the box the DVDs have a...

Re: Wedding Cost up for 2012

That is a ridiculously low price. Obviously that's not sustainable. That videographer may have just been trying to get experience and wanted to get paid something.

I'll preface this by saying...

Re: Wedding Cost up for 2012

In your example you're absolutely right, but that's a tiny sample size. Of course location (and other variables) is part of the equation of what someone would charge as well, but the outliers (the...

Re: Wedding Cost up for 2012

I wonder how they take into account someone who doesn't get a wedding videographer. That's $0 spent on video - that could also drag the average price down. It seems like someone would be more...

Wedding Cost up for 2012

Interesting article on CNN today. Obviously location plays a factor in what people charge for different services, but interesting none-the-less.

Average wedding cost $28,400 last year - Mar. 10,...

Re: Anyone using Google Ads for their website?

This was my experience as well. I wasn't finding a good return on the investment at all. I used it for about two months, so I realize my sample size was small, but I decided to that money elsewhere.

Re: Go Pro cameras

If you're using the GoPro 3 black edition you can shoot at 2.7K and crop it way down (especially to SD) without losing resolution.

Re: Wedding website viewable on iPhones, etc.

I would agree that wordpress is very user friendly. A lot of the themes you can buy are just plug and play, so you wouldn't need to know html in order to get a good looking website. We use...

Re: Multiple camera operators at ceremony

The new GoPro Black edition shoots at 2.7k at 24fps. You can make that a wide shot, but, in theory, you can crop that picture in half and still get an HD resolution. I haven't had a chance to...

Re: Any requests for 3D?

I'd like to do it just for the challenge of learning something new, but I don't necessarily think that it would be beneficial to a wedding video.

Re: CreativeLive Wedding Cinematography Course

That's really good Bill. I like it a lot. The interviews help the story telling. How many people did you end up interviewing? It looks like it's all at the same location.

Thanks Chris,

I'll just derail this thread for a moment and I guess we can start a new thread if this is a full conversation we want to partake in.

I didn't have time to watch all of it now,...

This sound interesting. Do you have a link or know who this was, I would like to see one. A quick google search didn't find anything for me.

Thanks.

Re: No more video cameras?

Your rhetoric is lovely.

I think it's too easy to place brides in one camp or the other. It's quite possible that different brides are looking for different styles. Anyway anyone shooting...

Re: No more video cameras?

How is using a DSLR the cause of a wedding video having no story? It may be more difficult to handle than a camcorder, but I don't think that should cause someone who could once tell a compelling...
