Re: C100 Upgrade?

To be fair to you, I would agree with your statement that nothing comes close to it in *Canon* Worlds. Alas the World is much larger and far better for video than exists in Canon's humble little...

Re: Gh5 firmware 2,0

Well from the little comments I have read, there is a difference, but I am not sure that post on Facebook or even anything searched via Google are pretty reliable. :) . Personally I prefer to...

Re: Gh5 firmware 2,0

Be fair Alex, its only been a few days with the new update to make any snap judgements one way or another. Besides what do you call minimum colour grading. I find 8 bit calls apart even with the...

Re: Gh5 firmware 2,0

Cheers for that tip; I've done the same. So far really impressed with the new features from the tests I have done so far and can't wait to use them officially for tomorrows Wedding.

For all...

Re: Gh5 firmware 2,0

It's more complicated than that. You have to switch on Operation Lock, which you can assign to a FN Button. I have mine set to Fn1. If you scroll down the options for assigning control to these Fn...

Re: Gh5 firmware 2,0

All downloaded and installed. Looking forward to trying out the apparently improved AF on this Saturday's Wedding. Plus may see how the new 400Mbps codec holds on my V60 card on some non critical...

Re: Steadycam

And there's your solution; get a electronic gimbal. I owned and tried a manual one and hated it. Yes, electronics can fail, but I've never had one yet (owning 2) that has let me me down. Instead,...

Re: Canon USA launches three 4K UHD handheld camcorders

If the C200 offered a bitrate equal to that seen on the XC15, I'd agree with it's price, but it doesn't, so I can't. Take away RAW and you have a C100 Mark III in all but name, so it depends whether...

Re: That Full Frame Look is so much better than MFT....

I wouldn't say flawed, more than some compromises had to be made to produce an image of similar FOV and exposure. I could achieve similar results using MFT lenses set to a lower aperture, but that...

Re: Panasonic GH5 firmware requests

But so worth the wait. The GH5 just gets even better. Crop marks will be very useful for me and the DISP button override is a Godsend. Thank You Panasonic for listening.

Re: 60p

I confess I hate watching video where the shutter speed rule has been broken, including my own. I avoid breaking it whenever possible and nearly always use an ND filter, mainly my variable one, for...

Re: Recommended Lens for the GH4

Prime lenses - I'm a fan of the 25mm 1.4. Small, not to expensive and good FOV.

More expensive are the Panasonic 12mm 1.4 and 42.5 1.2. The 42.5 is a stabilised lens and very good in low light...

Re: canon Eos C200 or other Cine camera for action

Controversial point here, but all the samples I have seen from the C200 have not really impressed me at all. Which is odd as I often have liked Canon's image (if not their prices and holding back...

Re: audio-problem with GH5

No, this is alas a standard annoyance of Panasonic cameras. Audio cuts in slightly later than the start of the video. There is however a simple solution to the problem. Start recording 1 second...

Re: Equipment question AX100?

Trouble is small handycams with their smaller sensors aren't built to handle low-light. For that you need larger sensors and then it's a big plus for the interchangeable lens cameras. Though you...

Re: New 6dii announced

I hear there's a potential Nikon D750 replacement that will have 4K.... The D750 is a few years old now. It's better than the 6D Mark II and currently cheaper. So the trouble is Canon isn't...

Re: C200 or 5D mkvi with C-Log to complement C100 mkii

To be honest I'd say you'd be better of going for the 5D Mark IV. It has the best AF and has c-log. Better colour match to the C100. Yes the HD is soft compared to the C100 but you have cropped 4K...

Re: New 6dii announced

Well if they're Canon competition, it only shows that Canon needed to up their game with the 6D. Especially as the D750 being a few years old is now cheaper than the 6D, meaning a full frame camera...

Re: New 6dii announced

Not a good excuse to remove it in my opinion. The GH5 is getting all-I for 4K at 10 bit 4:2:2, but only for 25p/30p. I'm not complaining its lack in 50p/60p, even though it would be welcome. I...
