Re: Straightforward, Educated Answer Needed Regarding Music Licensing

The "no taping" policy can also be rationalized/justified by pointing out how annoying it is to see those several cell phones pop up above the heads in the audience in the professional video! (In...

Re: Straightforward, Educated Answer Needed Regarding Music Licensing

Not trying to be clever or pull a fast one, Steve. Honest questions on my part. Fortunately, the little music I do is classical!

Re: Straightforward, Educated Answer Needed Regarding Music Licensing

This makes me curious: what if the kids sing memorized music (so music that was originally copyrighted on the score, but sing it with no score?)

Or, another wrinkle: what if the kids sing a...

Re: C100 - Zoom Lens Advice

And just to clarify: yes, in the perfect world, you'd have *both* the 17-55 IS USM and the 24-105 L -- but only saying that I am blown away with how much can be done with an f/4

Re: C100 - Zoom Lens Advice

YES! Just got it. The camera is so good in low-light the the f/4 is not a problem. Great lens. Could end up being the one to stay on the camera most of the time (over the 17-55).

Re: Battery Size - C100

Careful with batteries that aren't the 955/975 for C100.

At least in my case, the C100 will not operate for more than 2 seconds with the 925/945 (more older batteries).

I'm using the 955 and...

Removing iPhone interference *in post*

I've seen a number of threads on avoiding iPhone/cell phone sound interference during production (namely by turning off phones! and by choosing your mics carefully), but has anyone had luck getting...

Re: C300 upgrade worth it?

It would be sad to part with the 70-200 since it would be so nice with the C300.

Re: C100: recent low-light wedding

Hi, David, Great questions. Actually too soon for me to answer all of them just yet (just got it and am just getting to know it).

I have the XF300 and 100. This blows them away in low light...

Re: C100: recent low-light wedding

Wow, Peter, pretty discerning pick-up on that audio.

Yes, there is a very slight hiss. But no worries. It was what the DJ gave me (to an external recorder, totally separate from the C100).

Re: C100: recent low-light wedding

Thank you! In these particular shots, I didn't have the iso above 850 in the interiors -- and outside, 320-640 or so.

But in other shots (not in this montage), during the reception I experimented...

C100: recent low-light wedding

Hi, All,

In case you're interested in seeing more from this new camera, here is a recent wedding (short montage) with very low-light. (Even some of the exteriors -- such as the whole family pose)...

Re: XF300 footage: Advice on importing the MXF files with incomplete card structure

Yes, no question. I import with FCP all the time (but with whole, intact "CANON XF" folders).

This question pertains to just the individual clip folders within the original (lost) casing folders....

XF300 footage: Advice on importing the MXF files with incomplete card structure

I have several files in their own folders (AB1001, AB1002, etc., etc.) but no longer have the ORINAL full file structure of the card (that is, I don't have the "Journal" or CLIPS001 folder.

Is...

2X: 64GB SDXC Memory Card Extreme Pro Class 10

No problem so far. About 100 or so records. All double-slot. 3 full double erase/initialize.

Re: C100 or stick with XF300 & T3i

How do people think that C100 would do with the 24-105L lens in interior situations given that it's only f/4 ?

C100: avoiding jagged red edges

I'm loving the image this camera puts out. Absolutely as advertised.

As with other cameras I've owned, I've noticed that (especially) red edges can sometimes be jagged (see the two images...

Re: C100 or stick with XF300 & T3i

What about the drawback of not (as easily) having that big zoom on the camera during long aisle church ceremonies or long approach outdoor ceremonies? What do you use for your zoom on the C100 for...
