Re: Nikon D800 with video features

Jerry I actually think that the D800 produces slightly better stills than the D4, but the bigger brother's more robust build qualities, tighter seals with no inbuilt flash, faster drive and better...

Re: 5d mark ii, still work to buy @ $2200?

The Summilux-R 35mm will not clear the mirror, but the Summicron R 35mm fits the Canon 5D Ok.

Re: Nikon D800 with video features

The video out of the D4 is less detailed than the D800, but then again it has slightly less problems with moire patterns. For some reason the D800 is cropping the video frame more than the D4 when...

Re: 5d mark ii, still work to buy @ $2200?

Kevin, you could still use your M39 or Leica R lenses on the 5D Mk2 & Mk3 by using a cheap Leica to EOS EF mount adapter.

Re: Video: 5D Mk. II compared to 5D Mk. III

The Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 is a wonderful lens (both AF-D and older MF Ais versions). I would avoid the latest 'G' version if you are buying it mainly for video (due to lack of aperture ring). The f/2...

Re: Best for Video: 7D or 5d MK2??

That is one of the biggest reasons of all for me to use the 5D over the 7D.

A second reason is that buying a range of quality full frame 'L' lenses for the 5D will last for years to come, even...

Yes, I agree on that one Chris. Canon would be shooting themselves in the foot.

Re: Video: 5D Mk. II compared to 5D Mk. III

I'm not sure what to make of this little snippet about Canon launching a 5D X at Photokina, but I don't think the Mark III is going to match the sales of the Mark II.

Re: Nikon D800 with video features

It is early days yet, but video quality straight out of the D800 is better than I expected, and far better than the video performance from its more expensive brother the D4. The D800 seems to have a...

Re: Canon 5D Mk III is shipping in UK (pictures)

Tariq, I am just wondering why you are using the lens aperture at f/22?

Setting your ISO in good light to 100 or 160 is a good idea to maintain quality in bright light conditions, but unless you...

Re: Nikon 35mm f/1.4G?

For stills/video combined work, you would be better off sticking to the non-"G" lenses. All of the earlier AF & MF Nikkors have wide manual rings and aperture controls on the barrel, and all will...

Re: So, is the 5D3 soft?

You'd be hard-pressed to be able to shoot 17mm-wide video footage with the XH-A1...yet the 5D matched with the Canon L 17-35mm or 16-35mm L produces wonderful detailed footage.

That's why I prefer...
