Re: Advice on using GH2 as a locked off wideshot video camera?

In the Movie Mode 24p Cinema setting you can set your ISO, shutter speed and f-stop ahead a time.
I have not seen any spot mode.
To have a floating iris you would need to be in 'S' to lock the...

Not sure...

Re: First Impression

Yeah its definitely not a main lens but for the money its a fun lens and perhaps could be used for portrait shots or close ups. It is fast and cheap, used just for little projects.

Re: Advice on using GH2 as a locked off wideshot video camera?

Trouble with the Canons is if it is a lock down camera you would want it to go more than 12 or 20 minutes.
With the GH1 or GH2 you can leave it rolling.

Re: Advice on using GH2 as a locked off wideshot video camera?

I don't think the Sony CX550 is going to give you the control over the image as the GH1 or GH2 will.
Both GH's would be excellent as lock down cameras.
GH2 will give you a little higher resolution...

Re: Canon T3i vs Panasonic GH2

Yes but the GH2 only does 24p if you want the 24Mbps, which is what I am using in the AVCHD Movie Mode. I own the Nikon D7000 as well and there are pluses and minuses on both. Unlike the 7D or...

Re: 720/24p

My manual says 720 is 60p in AVCHD, unless you are doing Motion JPEG, it is 30p. I haven't tried shooting with Motion JPEG yet.
