Good point Steve, but am i not right in thinking that the images from the HV20 for example, are identical to the XH range of cameras as far as codec's go? And of course we want the manual features...

make sure your using 10.6.2 of snow leopard. It wont work in earlier versions.

I'm using 10;4;11 Tiger so that must be the problem.

I bought one from China for 13 quid inc postage and was very happy until it died on its first job. There may be some good ones out there, but i for one will buy the Canon ones in future.
